It's nice, but the heating wasn't working, and the beds were falling apart.

The service was excellent; there are lockers with keys that you can use. It has a kitchen/dining area equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The place is clean, and the sheets smelled wonderful. The woman who answered the answering machine was very friendly.

Highly recommended!! The host wasn't there but left his contact information, and the hostel has a guy who lives there for work but who takes care of the reception in exchange. He was very kind and friendly. Even though I had booked a room for 6 and there were only about ten people in the hostel, they gave us, since there were only two of us, a single room with two beds. It was very nice, with a private view of the garden (we even found two welcome chocolates on the pillows). The kitchen was very clean, but there wasn't anything to make breakfast, so we bought something ourselves since there was a refrigerator. The location is very convenient if you want to get around by public transport, otherwise it's not very close to the center. However, it was just a few minutes from the Wolf Street Market, which was very nice. The only downside is that the shower is at the back right as you enter the kitchen, so you can easily lock yourself in. It's very comfortable and large, and there were free soaps available. The bathroom, on the other hand, is only one, small and narrow, and it wasn't left clean by the other guests... unfortunately, it was all sticky. I highly recommend this hostel if you want a quiet stay (there were two families with small children), although the area behind it, towards the Nord station, isn't very safe. But if you avoid it at night, it's no problem.

My experience in small funny world hostel was just great! I spent two days there and I felt comfortable and secure. If you need to buy something, there’s a lot of supermarkets in the area and if you want to go to the center you just need to walk a few minutes, but everything is near by here. The common area, bathroom and beds were super clean and cozy. The host is very friendly and the contact was fast and helpful! I’ll definitely come back :)

I recently stayed at this hostel and feel compelled to share my experience to inform other travelers of the issues I encountered. From the beginning, there were serious security concerns. I was assured by the host that my luggage would be safe outside the locker, as it didn’t fit inside. However, during my stay, one of my bags, with the things I needed to move to this country, was stolen. The hostel’s security is severely lacking. The exterior door to the street was broken—a longstanding issue, apparently, that the building owner has neglected to address. The door to the hostel itself, meant to be locked by guests, was left unsecured (I do believe it was a member of the staff, but even if it wasn’t, should I constantly trust strangers to lock the door?) . Additionally, a disruptive guest who was asked to leave still retained or possibly discarded his keys, creating a risk of unauthorized access. One evening, the same guest, visibly drunk, attempted to enter another guest’s bed. I had to alert the host, who initially dismissed my call as a mistake. Only after I insisted did she come to the hostel. While the situation was unsettling, it led to a friendship with the other guest, the only positive outcome from this stay. The owner initially seemed willing to take responsibility, offering a refund for my stay (which she did provide) and expressing a willingness to discuss further compensation. However, when I followed up professionally to arrange a meeting, her response turned unexpectedly hostile. I received a series of aggressive, unprofessional messages, including personal insults, despite my calm approach. She even shamed me for staying in a hostel, implying that if I couldn’t afford higher-cost housing, I shouldn’t study in Belgium (mind you it was a temporary accommodation for 12 days while I was waiting for my student dorm to be ready). After years of sacrifice to afford this opportunity, I was left feeling degraded and insulted. Additional considerations, perhaps less significant but worth noting: Although close to the center, the neighborhood is clearly not a good one. The only toilet is located under the stairs in the main hallway, and there’s one shower for eight people (cleaned every other day, according to instructions given to the cleaning staff). There are no privacy curtains on the beds, the “kitchen” consists of a kettle and a camping stove with no microwave, and noise from outside is constant, with people frequently smoking right beneath the windows. Given the lack of security measures, and the deeply unprofessional conduct from management, I would strongly caution anyone considering this hostel, especially since if anything bad happens, it will be your fault for being “cheap” :).
