Hotel Royal

Hotel Royal has stood on Store Torv, the square in front of Aarhus Cathedral, since 1838, and with 64 rooms it's the city's classic grand hotel. The Royal Casino has operated in the building since 1991. In March 2026 the property was put up for sale for about DKK 500 million, but the hotel kept trading. GBAR on Skolegade is about two minutes' walk and the Latin Quarter starts across the square. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue.
