I stayed for one night. Nice little hotel. Check-in was contactless at the check-in terminal. The room was clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was also good. Overall, sustainability is a priority. I would gladly stay again. The Wi-Fi was also available. The staff was friendly.

Checking in via a sort of parking meter. Convenient, but very impersonal.

The four of us met there for a reunion. We knew beforehand that the reception was only staffed until 3 pm. Check-in was completely straightforward; a very nice woman showed us to our rooms and took our luggage upstairs. A small bottle of water was provided in the room for when we were thirsty. Downstairs in the lobby, you could help yourself to additional drinks and snacks on an honor system. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated, the bathroom was newly renovated, and plenty big enough for us. The breakfast was simply fantastic. Many items were organic! A very tasty selection! We wanted for nothing!!! Free parking! All in all, a truly wonderful hotel!!!

The location is quiet. Check-in is via a kiosk. The room is very basic; two towels, what a luxury. No kettle or coffee maker. Thin tissue pillows and a small, thin sheet.

I'm here at Hotel Das Lola on business and it's fine. The room is small but cozy, clean, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is very good with a wide selection.

Small, cozy, quiet hotel on the edge of the forest. Ample parking available, tram stop a two-minute walk away. The reception is staffed until 3:00 PM, after which check-in is automatic. Modern furnishings. The bathroom is a bit small, as is the space next to the bed (approx. 40 cm). Comfortable bed with a rather firm mattress. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Contactless check-in was completely straightforward – even my grandmother, who is over eighty, managed the process without assistance. This made arrival pleasantly efficient. The location is a clear competitive advantage: right on Rüttenscheider Straße with its many excellent restaurants and also ideally situated near the Essen Trade Fair. Perfectly positioned for business and leisure travelers. The next morning, a truly impressive breakfast awaited: many organic products, a wide selection of teas, homemade Bircher muesli, and an overall high-quality setup. The rooms are charmingly furnished, modernly equipped, and significantly above standard for this price range. The lobby feels open, warm, and designed with a noticeable attention to detail. A boutique hotel that delivers reliably and pleasantly surprises in several ways. Highly recommended.

I would love to write about the quality of the accommodation, but unfortunately, that's not possible. And it never will be. The reason: We had reserved several rooms at "Das Lola" for one night to stay after a birthday party. Two days prior, the host unfortunately fell ill and had to cancel the party. We immediately contacted the hotel to cancel. This was refused, with the explanation that cancellations were only possible up to four weeks before the planned stay and were stated in their terms and conditions. Aside from the fact that this is unusual (almost all hotels allow cancellations until 6 p.m. on the day of arrival), we would have appreciated a more accommodating offer, such as a voucher, which we would have gladly accepted and redeemed for the rescheduled date of the birthday party. However, the hotel initially insisted on full payment (150 euros per double room). Only through persistent negotiation were we able to obtain a refund of slightly less than half (69 euros). The result of this petty behavior is that this hotel will never see us as guests again, and we will advise all our acquaintances and friends against booking there in the future. It could all be so simple, but it isn't…

A truly charming hotel with character. A very large hotel villa surrounded by parkland. The hotel furnishings are upscale and new, modern yet cozy. Superb breakfast! Hotel parking is available, and the Essen trade fair grounds are within walking distance (15 minutes). The motorway is a 4-minute drive away. Unfortunately, there is no reception, but check-in is available until late (automated). Staff are always available during the day.

I've never seen a smaller bathroom in my life. It was almost impossible to move around in it alone. Two people had to perform some serious choreography. Truly unacceptable. Both windows were covered with foil due to painting work on the facade. Later that evening, there was no parking to be found.
