Excellent experience, the hotel is very well located, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, and they even speak French!
Basic room. Not the best location in terms of distance from the river and cafe areas. Consider the value for money at the time of booking, and compare it with hotels in other areas closer to the sites and attractions you are interested in The receptionist I met upon arrival did not speak any English.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the same cleaner, which wasn't her job, hence the slight delay. Parking is listed as included, but they charge €30 per day if you want to use it, and it's a storage unit where you have to give them your keys, and they move them around constantly. The breakfast was very basic, with little variety; it could be improved. The daily cleaning was excellent. The man in charge of breakfast was very kind and attentive. The location is perfect.
So i was in search for a economic place to rest and have decent sleep as a solo traveler who slept in hostels. I thought i find that place. I asked explicitly for the room with less external noise and thats what i got. As someone mentioned, there is some club on this quiet side of hotel. My terrace was looking at that place, but for my 2 nights stay it wasn't working. The receptionist said they rarely work, just for some events. So you should ask if you are searching for silence. It was a bit uncomfortable to have understanding with receptionist because she barely speaks English and she wasn't keen to interact, but we managed. I LOVED that hotel has elevator becaue most if the places in Porto doesn't, so it was huge help with baggage. When check out I could leave baggage for free for a few hours. I had a problem with my bag so they didn't mind checking out a bit later. Hotel and room look pretty decent, no bugs, towels, mini refrigerator, bed lamps, terrace with a fine few, hot water. One pillow and blanket that was in closet were not clean, thats the only downside becaue I needed to use it to stay warm. I was there in March. I did slept well at night, but early morning you can hear all the stuff preparing breakfast some room was probably near the kitchen. I didn't eat there so I don't know how is food, but that street is very centric you have plenty famous restaurants and cafes. So all good Now the reason I was thinking to give 3 or 4 stars is that, 2nd day I wanted to prolong and they charge me 20 e more for the same room. And that happened in hostel before this hotel,too. I found that very rude since it never happened in other European countries, they even make it cheaper if I book in person and if I am already costumer. I don't know if its Porto thing. But BE AWARE of that. It does make a difference if you travel on the budget.
An absolutely perfect stay! The welcome was exceptional from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived in the evening, we were greeted with great kindness and professionalism. But what truly impressed us was the incredibly attentive, responsive, and compassionate team who helped us through a difficult situation and literally "saved" us. A huge thank you for your kindness, efficiency, and dedication to service. It makes all the difference! We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will gladly return. An absolutely perfect stay.
