The rooms are very small, especially the bathroom. If you have a non-standard body type or are pregnant (as was my case), I don't recommend it. The space to walk between the sink and the door is only 15-20 cm. We had stayed there many times and had never had a room like this; the others were just average. The staff used to be much friendlier too. It's a shame.

Everything you need is there. Very centrally located. The rooms are small, but nice with a huge bed and a balcony.

Decent hotel. Bit of a unique vibe. Very handy location for the train, shops and seafront. Nice and relaxed. Desk were helpful and unobtrusive. Room a bit run down but had everything I required. Pool looks much bigger in the photo. Breakfast was great.

Everything was so amazing we stay for 4 nights staff wear so good just small things we feel is like the breakfast is same every morning I hope it will b much better if there will be some change rest of all was fantastic definitely will visit soon

Great location close to the train station, simple but fully equipped. Excellent value for money. Breakfast was extensive – I only missed having fresh vegetables (e.g., cucumber, tomato).

Excellent run hotel.

I would strongly caution anyone considering staying at this hotel. On arrival, the receptionist offered to store our luggage while our room was being prepared and personally took our bags behind reception for safekeeping. We were not informed that lockers or a secure luggage room were available. When we returned approximately 90 minutes later, my backpack had been stolen from behind the reception desk after reception had been left unattended for a significant period of time. Initially, the hotel denied that we had even handed over the bag. It was only after we challenged this and requested CCTV footage that staff reviewed the cameras and acknowledged that the backpack had in fact been stolen from behind reception while in their care. The hotel then accepted full responsibility for the theft. The stolen backpack contained my passport, tablet, medication, toiletries, clothes and other personal belongings. As a result, a large portion of what should have been a relaxing holiday was instead spent dealing with police reports, attending the Irish Embassy to obtain emergency travel documentation, sourcing replacement medication in Spain, and replacing essential items just to continue the trip. At the time, the hotel assured us they would make an insurance claim and provided a partial payment towards urgent replacement costs, stating this would later be deducted from the final compensation. However, after returning home, the hotel informed us that their insurer refused the claim and they would not provide any further compensation beyond the initial payment — despite the actual costs incurred exceeding that amount and despite them previously accepting responsibility for the theft. What is most disappointing is not only the theft itself, but the way the situation was handled afterwards: the initial denial, the lack of secure supervision of guests’ belongings, and ultimately the refusal to properly resolve the matter after accepting liability. I understand that thefts can happen anywhere, but guests should reasonably expect that items handed directly to hotel staff for safekeeping will actually be kept secure. Unfortunately, this experience caused significant stress, financial loss, and ruined a substantial part of our holiday.

Hotel El Cid is the best.

dated rooms but decently priced. Location is 5 mins from the beachfront.
