We called into Mary’s for a quick drink before heading to a wedding reception nearby, and from the outside it looked pretty quiet. As soon as we stepped in, though, the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming — even the security on the door — and the music was great. The drag artist performing was next level and absolutely made the place come alive. For our first time in Cardiff, this was such a standout experience. One drink quickly turned into three, and we actually ended up a bit late to the wedding reception because we were having such a good time. If we come back to Cardiff, we’ll 100% be returning to Mary’s.

What can you say went with my daughter even as a straight man was made to feel wellcombe drag act was great one my drinks bit flat was sorted out straight away and cheap to get in at the time it was only £3 which is good for city centre

Went here for part of our delayed Christmas work do on a Sunday, had the most amazing time playing bingo after several drinks ! Drinks were very reasonably priced which was great and I happened to win a £100 on bingo lol which was also amazing! The queens banter was so much fun and can’t wait to return again soon, would highly recommend going there if you want a really good laugh and alot of fun in a gorgeous building.

I didn't want to leave a bad review but as our complaint emails are being ignored I'd like to make others aware of how we were treated. Just for clarity this email was sent to Mary's at 7.05pm 17.01.2026 showing we were perfectly sober. The table was booked & we had paid for the table to be decorated. I’m writing to raise a formal complaint related to an incident that occurred at 19:00 at Mary’s, 17th January 2026. My family and I were refused entry to your venue by Security, who I gather judged a member of my party to be inebriated owing to her falling over in the road prior to approaching the doorway. I would like to clarify that this was owing to a twisted ankle, rather than the false accusation levied. Never mind the fact she has just finished chemotherapy. Furthermore, that your Security team judged my mother’s behaviour to be unsuitable as such to allow entry. I must make you aware that my mother has been diagnosed with ADHD, recognised as a disability under the Disability Act 2010, and so your Security team has acted unlawfully by prohibiting entry based on subjective opinion (breaching Section 15 by treating our party unfavourably, as well as Section 20 by failing to make reasonable adjustments). As your venue has caused significant upset and disappointment on the evening of a special family gathering, I request the following: A) A full refund made against the booking B) Details of compensation to be provided; C) Your assurance that your Security team will be appropriately trained to ensure a repeat of this circumstance does not occur. I await your prompt response

Went along to see the entertainment as it said Kareoke and fun with Poly Amorous who was about as entertaining as a fart in a lift. She needs lessons from a proper drag queen entertainer. Waste of time no banter no interaction just stood chewing gum in the DJ box. Not recommended. Bar staff lovely music was good before tge DJ arrived.

I will never miss out on attending a Gay bar in whatever city i go to and Cardiff was no different. the decor was stunning to be honest, absolutely loved the vibe in there, and the performers were equally as amazing. we talk about the Cardiff weekend for many reasons, but Marys is a regular mention all on its own! cant wait to visit again!

Myself and my partner had a lovely night in Mary's with the fabulous Miss Kitty. She was very engaging and very entertaining. Thomas and Kieran on the bar were also very friendly too. Was also really nice to see them getting involved in it all too! Thanks for a lovely night guys! Until next time!
