Stayed for one night whilst exploring Cardiff. Great location to walk to town, the castle and Bute park. Spacious room with a big comfy bed, big bathroom and nice shower. TV wasn’t working although didn’t stay to watch tv. Used the spa for £10 each the following morning- good size pool for swimming along with a hot tub and sauna. Paid for hotel parking underground to last us the whole weekend in Cardiff (parked up and went out before coming back to check in, went for breakfast across the road after the pool and checked out on return). Also left some clothes behind and although no one answered the main telephone number on the website, they did reply to a WhatsApp to sort the clothes left behind.

I love this hotel, I have been staying her for almost 4 years. And before that, when I was living in Cardiff, I used to come to their gym. So a long looooong relationship ❤️

Hey all , me and many other friends booked last night 7 double beds for a night , Terrible experience , It started with parking ,firstly why is there only 50/60 spots but double the quantity of rooms ? We didnt have any space to park , and if we did find one it would cost 24£ extra , Then we reach the rooms and some dont have shampoo in the showers 2 of the showers didnt have almost any water pressure , the drinks available at the reception were in a fridge that hasnt been plugged in for the last few years i guess , very hot . No other cold drinks available , the small Fridges in the rooms were useless . Air con in the rooms not existent , they had a standing fan in a hotel that i pay 80 pounds per night , has a spa and shiny decor ? Which by the way made things worse then better . (I recommend buying and fitting actual Air conditioning systems.🙂) Yeah overall bad experience other than a nice guy who checked us in promptly, thats the only positive , many bad details i wont continue to put down here its a waste of time . I DONT RECCOMEND. 😑🚽

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff were helpful in assisting with our luggage from the car park to the hotel, although porter services are not available. Check-in was swift, and parking was straightforward and easy to pay for. The double rooms, while spacious, left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness and overall upkeep. The décor and facilities felt dated, and there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke on the ninth floor. We were also provided with a travel cot for our baby. Although the hotel supplied extra cushions and blankets, none of these were sleep-safe for infants. Additionally, the mattress did not fit the entire cot, so if the baby were to move slightly, they would slip off the mattress. We would recommend the hotel review and update the options provided for babies and young children.

Lovely big bedroom & en suite, but not serviced in any way during our stay despite requesting this. Food choices at dinner very poor, reception staff unhelpful. Good position for visiting Cardiff if you are able to walk.

I love staying here, the rooms are very spacious and posh I love the food and the staff are very friendly

I recently visited Holland House Hotel Cardiff for afternoon tea and spa and unfortunately had a very concerning experience. I made my allergies to both nuts and dairy explicitly clear at the time of booking and again upon arrival. Despite this, I was initially served food containing dairy, including clotted cream and a cake with cream, which had to be sent back. When a replacement was provided, it then posed a further risk due to nut contamination, with nuts visible on the bottom of the cakes—this also had to be returned. Being served unsafe food twice, after clearly declaring allergies, is completely unacceptable and represents a serious failure in allergen management and basic food safety procedures. This wasn’t just inconvenient—it was genuinely alarming. At no point should a guest feel unsure whether the food in front of them is safe to eat. The repeated mistakes left me feeling anxious and unsafe, and ultimately ruined what should have been an enjoyable experience. The situation was made worse by staff conduct. A chef reacted in a dismissive and aggressive manner when my allergies were raised, stating they could not accommodate them, and spoke inappropriately towards a waitress in front of guests. In addition, I witnessed what appeared to be a manager loudly discussing staff pay across the restaurant floor using inappropriate language, which created a very unprofessional atmosphere. I do want to highlight that two members of the waiting/bar staff were excellent—professional, polite, and clearly doing their best in a difficult situation. To add to the disappointment, the steam room facilities were also out of order. Overall, this experience raised serious concerns around allergen safety and professionalism. I would strongly urge the hotel to review its procedures to ensure no other guest is put at risk.

Good sized rooms, really nice shower. Slightly confusing layout internally where the rooms are located but everything is signposted. Nothing to complain about.

This hotel use to be loverly stay in tbe city center for reasonable price with extras like break fast and parking and spa facilities but don’t be fooled we booked on bookings .com and they took our card details for security because we paid cash on arrival we were charged more on top of that they wanted a cash holding deposit £100 on top of the room cost when we asked for recipe they told us they couldn’t do so. Then when we went to go use the spa facilities we were told it was charge even though we were staying guests the overall welcome has gone. The room rate may seem reasonable but don’t be fooled the added extra you could stay in much nicer hotel with a pleasant service which you won’t get here
