One of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. We stayed at Holland House Hotel Cardiff on 6–7 June 2026 and paid £113.61. For that price, I expected a clean, well-maintained hotel with the facilities that were advertised. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we received. The problems started before we even checked in. Parking was a nightmare, and after speaking with other guests, it was clear we were not the only people having issues. Check-in was painfully slow, with a long queue at reception. To make matters worse, nowhere during the booking process was it made clear that photo ID and a credit/debit card would be required to check in. This should be clearly communicated to guests before arrival. We then experienced issues accessing the main hotel building due to problems with the entrance door. Upon reaching our room, there was a bag of laundry left outside, which immediately gave the impression that standards were lacking. The condition of the hotel was also concerning. We observed a smashed window and heavily stained carpets, both of which reflected poorly on the hotel’s maintenance and cleanliness. We took photographs of these issues. Perhaps most frustratingly, room service was advertised but was not available. Advertising facilities that guests cannot actually use is unacceptable and misleading. Overall, the hotel felt poorly managed and badly maintained. Between the parking problems, long wait to check in, lack of clear information, maintenance issues and unavailable advertised services, this stay was not worth the money paid. I would not stay here again and would struggle to recommend it to others. One of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. If you have luggage, this hotel is not suitable because you can only get to the hotel from the road by climbing stairs, there is no ramp.

Great experience today swimming at the Holland hotel and spa in Cardiff. I have received the best service and hospitality especially from ARPIT. ARPIT was very kind and courteous, very attentive to addressing the service requests I needed, as I appreciated his hospitality. Thank you very much. Will definitely come back again. Hope ARPIT will serve me.

There's no phone in the room and reception doesn't answer the main number when you call. They've made the pool an additional charge of £10 per person now with no ropes included.
