Excellent hotel with great value for money in Cardiff, located in a relatively central area. The Premier Inn is about a 5-10 minute walk from the city center. The location is good, the room is quite spacious, and the shower is excellent. The bed is also very comfortable and was one of the highlights of the stay. The breakfast, however, leaves a little to be desired. It doesn't have a cold cuts option. It's simple and costs between 9 and 11 pounds, depending on the options chosen from the buffet. In my opinion, it might be better to have breakfast at a bakery in the area. Despite this, the cappuccino from the machine was really very good. The Wi-Fi doesn't work very well in the room! When I reported this at reception, they gave me access to the Ultra network, which helped reasonably.
Very disappointed by the customer service this morning, we stayed last night and the Aircon was reported as not working and was supposedly switched on manually, the Aircon did not work all night and the room was like a furnace. Room 614. No note was made this morning and when we told the member of staff neither of us had slept she told us to call the premier inn number. Who have told us that the hotel should have dealt with the complaint! Not very happy at all Cardiff staff
When we came back from a concert about 11pm there was guy at the door with a clipboard. It wasn’t visible if he was staff or not who then asked us to state our room number. Firstly as two female customers having to audibly state our room number and my full name to a man who didn’t identify himself or provide with id. A room key that I was holding and showed him should be enough that I’m a paying customer. Obviously I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe at this.
Lots of deferred maintenance. Due for repairs and carpet replacement.
Great hotel in a prime position in the shopping area. Lovely bar area and breakfast was good as well.
