About this place Côte Cardiff Central

This is the Cardiff branch of Côte, the UK chain of French-style brasseries, at 10-11 Mill Lane in the city centre near St David's shopping centre. The menu is standard brasserie fare: steak frites, fish, salads and a set menu at lunch and early evening. It has a 4.5 Google rating from about 1,800 reviews. It is a mainstream, gay-friendly restaurant, not a gay venue. The gay bars on Charles Street and Churchill Way are about ten minutes' walk away. The set menu is the cheapest way to eat here. Book on rugby and concert days, when the city centre fills up.

Loved our recent visit here and we were especially pleased to be looked after by Shaun, a new waiter about to start university who was both knowledgeable and attentive plus every encounter with the public came with a smile. Our suggestion to Côte is to look at stocking some Pommeau … especially at this time when all things Norman are in the news re Bayeux Tapestry

Lovely setting and the staffs are very attentive. I opt for something different tonight with orange wine, scallops and mussels. After two courses, too full for any dessert. Need I say more, normal high standard and expectations from Cote as always, so why not give it a try.

We had a wonderful evening at Cote Brasserie. The food was delicious. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I had the loveliest wine recommended by the manager who is a sommelier. We will definitely be back soon.
