High Bank Hotel

Do not let the horrific reviews and photos put you off this terrible hotel. Let the fact they will probably cancel on you at short notice in order to accept a higher offer during busy times be the reason. Just another immoral business taking advantage during UKReiff despite having had the booking for a year.

The hotel is extremely bad. There is a strong smell of mold in the room, and mold is present in most areas. The rooms are not clean. The heating in the room does not work. They gave us electric heaters; their wheels are broken, and one of them does not work properly. The room was very cold. I booked a room for four people, but they placed us in a room behind the building, as if it were a storage area or a shelter for insects. The water heater is not clean. The bed pillows are poor. The television does not work. Do not be deceived by the pictures — the reality is very painful.

Didn’t stay shown 3 dirty and incomplete rooms. Mould on sheets and food on floors. Missing kettle and remote for TV then stained mattresses and mouldy sheets.

Great place to stay. Really recomend it :)

My second visit here. Staff were nice and I can't fault them in any way. The gentleman on my recent visit was very polite courteous and respectful. The advertising of the room was disappointing though and we never got anything like the room in the pictures. The pictures showed a spacious environment but the room we actually got was small and cramped (room 4). The walls / ceiling seem to be thin and really do not cut down on much noise. Being a hotel I'm surprised soundproofing isn't used between the floor boards and in the walls or a substitute. If you intend to have Outside: the hotel can't really do much about nature but just be cautious if you park near the trees within 3 hours of parking near the trees my car was covered in bird poop and clearly the birds eat well because they plastered my car! Couple tiles missing from the steps on the way to the door. Not an issue as we arrived in daylight and could see but not good if arriving at night. Slight trip hazard maybe? Overall happy with staff

Got there, asked for id… couldn’t provide because I ve lost my wallet and they refuse the check in and also refuse to refund the money, be careful when booking.

Nice place I'm planning to go

Location is OK with car park and several bus stops in the vicinity. Furniture in the rooms have seen better days. Bed was creaky but otherwise OK. However the blinds need replacing, the wardrobe repairing. The biggest problem was the shower. There are shared bathrooms, not a problem, but the closest shower had a faulty thermostat causing the water to be too hot. I had to use another bathroom. If traveling to Leeds again, I may consider staying at the hotel again but I wouldn't recommend it to others.

£55 for room, no bar no food, new management 5 yrs ago,

We stayed here for 1 night & believe me that was enough. The shower was absolutely disgusting, the room was filthy, the tv was crooked because the plug socket was too far away. There was no lock on the bathroom door, there were stains all over the carpet, the curtain rail was hanging off, the towels felt damp, the pillows were so old & flat they may as well not been there, there was no bedside lamps, the paintwork was disgusting, the cups weren't particularly clean, the kettle needed descaling. If I could have given less than 1 star I would. I can safely say we've never stayed in such a disgusting, filthy place. I have complained to Booking.com.
