Was given room 302, when entering the room the fan was already on but the room was far too hot, went out for the afternoon and after four hours the fan had made no difference to the room temperature as it as 30c outside. Checked their website as we had booked a signature room which like all rooms was supposed to have air conditioning - went to reception to complain and was offered 108 - this is seemingly still a signature room although the shower was in the bedroom and had no view but at least it had air conditioning. I did note the lighting isn't terribly bright in both rooms. Went to the cocktail bar which was the second reason we booked here - the house cocktails were weird and wonderful with at least one or more ingredient/s we didn't like (we are classic fans so do get this) but thankfully they had a classic vodka and gin martini which were good, we used the token the hotel gives you for a free second drink. When we entered the bar a football game was on, we had been told the live band started at 7pm and we were 20mins early so didn't mind thinking they would switch it off at 7pm - nope they kept it on and we left at 8pm as we were fed up listening to people shouting at the game, might as well as have been in a sports pub instead of a cocktail bar, when we went to pay they had added 15% tip and I asked for it to be removed and the waiter asked why and we told him the above. Cocktails were good but at £20 before a tip were the most expensive we had in Kensington. Went out for dinner and when we got back at 10.15pm, you could hear the band from outside and hear them from the room. No need for the music to be so loud. The lift is up two flights of stairs on the first floor so if you have mobility issues, best avoid. The next night we tried the cocktail bar after the concert and it was good and much more like what you expect from a cocktail bar and left a tip. Pro - modern quirky decor. Pro - good location for Kensington Gardens and underground and the RAH. Pro - air-con in 108 was good but 302 in summer would not be pleasant (assuming this is only room like this). Con - good but pricey cocktails. Con - location of lift. Con - never been asked in any hotel to tip when checking out. The football game noise, no air-con, being challenged when not tipping took the edge of our visit.. Had such high hopes for this hotel as loved the decor.

We chose the 2 bedroom apartment and the only downside was the roll away bed added to the living room so our two teens could each have their own bed, there are no drapes in the living room allowing light in at all hours and the windows are very thin so street noise was quite bothersome, esp from the club across the street Friday and Saturday. Bathing facilities were beautiful and functional, excellent hot water pressure. Bed was extremely comfortable although nothing lighter than a full down duvet. Full kitchen was useful for a few breakfasts with a tiny Nespresso machine and lots of seating. Still water and milk included. Very secure and private and housekeeping was stellar. Expensive bar drinks, good chips but otherwise wouldn’t highly recommend the on-site dining.

Basic hotel.

Quirky hotel with a lovely team of people and excellent cocktails served in the bar with live music in the evening. We stayed one night. The location is perfect, close to High St Kensington tube station ora walk across Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park to Marble Arch and Oxford St or to Piccadilly. The Natural History Museum, Royal Albert Hall, V&A and Science Museum all within walking distance. My only quibble was the room size - we stayed in a Signature double room and it was very cosy. Otherwise we loved our stay and would return.

Loved the place!!! We stayed at the penthouse and we had so much privacy .
