Zurich is expensive and reserved, but its gay sauna scene is genuinely good — clean, well-run venues in a city with a significant LGBTQ+ community. Note that Sauna Moustache closed permanently in January 2024, so the scene is smaller than it was.
Paragonya Wellness Club
The main sauna in Zurich's Old Town area — 600 m² across two floors. Organic sauna, bio sauna, steam bath, whirlpool, cold bath, rain showers, relaxation cabins, dark room, and a bar serving juices, snacks, wine, and champagne. Friday specials for younger visitors. The venue is praised for cleanliness. Open from 11:30am daily.
Renos Relax Sauna
In the Langstrasse district (Zurich's nightlife area) — Finnish saunas with eucalyptus, steam rooms, whirlpools, private cabins, bubble shower, and cool dip tub. Open until 4am Friday and Saturday. Tuesday and Friday nights host bi-sex events welcoming women and couples. Predominantly 35+ crowd; emphasis on relaxation and discretion.
Sauna Mylord
Markets itself as the cosiest sauna in central Zurich — all ages and body types welcome. Monday evenings feature naked tantra yoga and crossdresser gatherings. Monday closing is at 9pm; other nights run later.
Apollo Sauna
Five minutes from the main train station — two floors with Finnish sauna, steam bath, bar, and cabins on the lower level, relaxation on the upper. Discreet, private atmosphere with a loyal following. Earlier closing (8pm) makes it a daytime or early evening option.
Zurich Gay Scene
The gay bar scene runs through the Langstrasse area and around Sihlstrasse. Heaven Club (Saturday 11pm–5am) is the main dance club; Cranberry Bar has been running since 1997 with drag and karaoke. Zurich Pride Festival is in late June at Landiwiese Park on the lake — around 35,000 people, parade starts Saturday 2pm from Helvetiaplatz. Warmer Mai (May) is a month-long LGBTQ+ arts and culture celebration.
