Cine Rex

Cine Rex is one of the last adult cinemas in Rio's Centro, on Rua Álvaro Alvim in Cinelândia, beside Teatro Rival. It still shows erotic films, and the audience is men, gay and straight, who use the auditorium and booths for cruising; Cinema Treasures and a 2024 Medium essay both describe it. Directory listings give Monday to Saturday about 9:00 to 20:00 and shorter Sunday hours. It is dated and basic, and Google reviewers give it 3.4. Go in daylight and keep your phone out of sight.
