You anticipated our needs before we even spoke. You helped us with absolutely every single question and problem. Because of you, we felt safe, cared for, and truly at home. Thanks to you, our Machu Picchu experience was seamless, and we could fully enjoy both days at the citadel – something that seemed impossible before we arrived. Visited the restaurant after our Machu Picchu hike. Russel was very kind and provided excellent service. Went out of his way to celebrate my birthday and make us feel welcome. Will definitely recommend.

Amazing and magnificent hotel Impeccable service The best food I've ever had, 10 out of 10

Lunch at the restaurant. I wanted to stay at this hotel in Machu Picchu, but this time I used the hotel restaurant for lunch. The food was okay, but the service from the restaurant staff was poor. I bumped into a staff member and dropped the coffee cup I was holding on the floor. Freshly brewed coffee spilled on it, but the staff member didn't apologize or even check if the coffee had spilled on anything. They picked up the broken cup that had fallen on the floor and quickly went off to serve the next customer. I was angry at the lack of consideration necessary for good service, and saddened that my image of the Sanctuary Lodge, which I loved so much, was ruined! Everyone, please refrain from using the restaurant during busy hours. You might have an unpleasant experience. Lunch at the restaurant. This was, without question, one of the most extraordinary stays of my life. To be located literally at the entrance of Machu Picchu is already surreal. You wake up steps from one of the Seven Wonders of the World, surrounded by mist-covered mountains and absolute stillness before the crowds arrive. That alone would make it special. But the experience here goes far beyond location. We somehow had the rare privilege of being the only guests on property during our stay, and the level of care and attention was simply unmatched. It felt less like a hotel and more like a private estate curated entirely around us. The service was flawless and deeply personal. Every team member greeted us by name each time we passed. There is something incredibly meaningful about walking through a property and feeling genuinely known. A special thank you to Andrea at the front desk, who coordinated everything from start to finish. She was spectacular. Professional, warm, and completely dialed in. Every detail was handled seamlessly, and she made the entire experience feel effortless. She was a true anchor for the stay and an absolute pleasure to work with. John, the doorman, was exceptional in every regard. He met us at the train station, personally handed us our tickets, ensured we had our bus passes organized, and handled our luggage with complete precision. By the time we finished check-in, our bags were already placed in our room. He set the tone for the entire experience from the very first moment and continued to be attentive, proactive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. Mayson was wonderful in the restaurant, attentive without ever being intrusive. Jhosimar, our bartender, was outstanding. Every cocktail was crafted with precision and creativity, delivered with personality and warmth. He elevated each evening and made the bar feel like our own private lounge. I also want to recognize the maître d’, who was incredibly kind and quietly orchestrating everything behind the scenes. His presence ensured that every meal flowed seamlessly. You could tell he was managing countless moving parts, yet he did so with calm confidence and grace. That level of leadership does not go unnoticed. The dining experience deserves its own paragraph. The food was refined, beautifully plated, and easily on par with Michelin-level restaurants. To enjoy that level of cuisine while overlooking the Andes is unforgettable. Breakfast on the terrace felt almost cinematic. A completely private setting, endless offerings, impeccable service, and the quiet majesty of Machu Picchu in the background. It is one of those moments you wish you could freeze in time. Evenings brought live music that added warmth and atmosphere without overpowering the serenity of the setting. It struck the perfect balance between luxury and authenticity. What truly sets this place apart is how seamless everything feels. There is no friction, no waiting, no confusion. Just a consistent sense of calm excellence. The team operates with grace, precision, and genuine warmth. This is not simply a hotel stay. It is an experience layered with intention, beauty, and heart. If you ever have the opportunity to stay here, take it. It is rare to find a property that delivers at this level across every dimension.
