Equality Bahamas

Equality Bahamas is a Nassau-based organisation working on women's and LGBTQI+ rights. It was founded by Alicia Wallace and its work centres on advocacy, political education and public campaigns. It also runs community events and publishes resources on equality issues in the Bahamas. There is no drop-in centre. The best way to reach the group or find out about upcoming events is through its website. Same-sex activity has been legal in the Bahamas since 1991, but there is no legal recognition of same-sex couples and public attitudes remain conservative, so local advice is worth having.
