Nice location, great access to the board walk.. but one staff member in particular was very rude, agrumentive, and aggressive. He also stated i was not allowed to complain about what was wrong with the room and wouldn't switch me to a different one. The room was gross, not cleaned at all ever. The bathroom was disgusting, found used water bottles under sink cabinet and some soccer cleats, thick short black hair all over the bathroom. The shower water pressure was terrible and no hot water. Toe nail clippings and sunflower seeds and glittery slime all over the carpet. The sliding glass door had black sticky residue all over it and dry crusty boogers. The deck is dangerous made of plywood thats about to fall through. Leaking fridge, toilet doesnt flush properly and would over flow ( staff wouldn't have someone clean it nor provide abything to clean it up with ). Dishes were dirty, no cook ware. Dirty oven and microwave. The water was very questionable with the yellow/orange color. I watched the cleaning lady clean the room one of the days, she didnt change the sheets on one bed, didnt vaccum or wipe anything. The bathroom she didnt clean only swapped out towels for stained towels and put new toilet paper rolls and some soap.

Not the cleanest place on earth. We will never go there again. Very old and used lobby, elevator and rooms. Balcony not save!

The service was pretty okay! The person helping us was very new but took proper care! The view of the marina was beautiful. The rooms on the other hand….totally disgusting. Looked nothing like the photos shown online. It smelled of old urine and dirt. There was flies everywhere, and not a small amount of them. I don’t think the bathroom was cleaned before our check in time. Bedding was filthy, the whole room legit kinda looked like a serial killers hideout. The hallways were extremely dirty. We ended leaving quickly after we found out the condition of the room. They gave us a full refund with no hassle which was appreciated. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay

Only used the marina, all the staff were cordially and helpful

We called looking for a couple nights stay in the Marina. We received an email with a map of the marina, indicating where our slip was. The front staff at the office were friendly, helpful and informative. The marina docks look brand new, they are well lit at night. The shower was amazing, cleaner than the showers/ bathrooms at the last resort marina (more expensive) we were at. They are 10 minutes for $2.00. As a marina it has been great, but the suites part of the property looks quite run down.

This review only pertains to the marina operations. We have stayed at this marina every time we pass through Nanaimo(2 x's per year). We have always been treated fairly and had good service. In our most recent trip on 7-15-2024 our experience was very different. We called 1 day ahead to make a reservation. We were told that we had a reservation and call back with credit card information. We called later that day with attendant telling us he was busy and would call back. We did not receive a call. This went on for some time without resolution. On our last call on the day of arrival we were told they had no documentation of a reservation. We should have given up at this point but we persisted in making contact and seeking clarification. In the end we received email confirmation. Upon arrival we called marina on VHF. They stated they were busy and would call us back. No callback! Yikes! The lack of communication was like no other experience we have ever had. We politely informed the management that this would be our last stay at Waterfront Marina.
