Pretty good hotel with amazing rooms. The main thing that disappointed me was that the rooms were not cleaned every day. Also, one time a staff member knocked once and opened the door to my room while I was sleeping, which felt uncomfortable. The breakfast was pretty good. However, I didn’t really like the owner (I think) or one of the serving women they gave me a bit of a creepy feeling. The location is nice and close to downtown. I would say it’s okay to try once, but probably not a place I would stay again.

Rachel was so wonderful and accommodating. She went out of her way to make us comfortable and welcome. And the building itself is just beautiful!

Host is wonderful, very fun vibe, very victorian :)

The Amethyst is definitely one of a kind, with Victorian stylings, so much character, and a rich history as well. If you are looking for a unique and comfortable stay, I highly recommend. There is tons of space to socialize on the main level, and the rooms are all highly unique, quiet, and private. The beds are a little dated, but still comfortable enough.

Very charming! We loved the jet tub and the amazing breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. (I’d bring an eye mask though, because the hallway light shines in through the window above the door.)

My partner booked us a two night stay here for our trip to Victoria. We are both big fans of the antique vibes so this was right up our alley! The manor is so beautifully decorated from the moment you walk in and has such a unique old world charm. We especially loved how it was decorated for the season! It was such a pleasant surprise they they served breakfast in the dining room at no additional charge. The breakfast came with eggs benny, yogurt and fruit parfait as well as a muffin with coffee! We absolutely loved the service of the hostess working during our stay (sadly we forgot to ask her name) My one and only con would be that the bed in the room we chose was fairly firm and uncomfortable. Not a huge deal considering the length of our stay however my back did feel it after two nights! Overall was a lovely little place to stay and quite a unique experience; would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

A beautiful Victorian villa rich in history and steeped in charm. The room we had was quite large with a beautiful 4 post bed and a jetted soaking tub. Every detail was considered in the decor and many beautiful antique pieces of furniture made it feel very authentic and luxurious. The breakfast was top tier , fruit and yogurt parfait, freshly baked blueberry muffins, and quiche. The service was excellent, highly recommend this beautiful historical inn.

Superb place, full of antiques. Free parking. Spacious room, the Windsor room on the 3rd floor, whirlpool tub with skylight and separate toilet. King-size bed, excellent bedding, gas fireplace, and air conditioning. Relaxation area with sofa, armchair, and TV (Note: no elevator). Superb breakfast served from 7:30 to 9:30. We were accommodated to have breakfast earlier so we could catch our ferry. I highly recommend it. Excellent service.

Amazing! The building is absolutely beautiful, and you definitely get the feeling of staying in a vintage Victorian mansion. As soon as we pulled in and parked, we saw a young male deer wandering through the garden :) The interior is so beautiful! Beds were very comfortable. We had the Rendezvous room and the big jacuzzi bathtub was a pleasant surprise! The free breakfast included was amazing too - I wasn’t very hungry so I just had a fruit and yogurt parfait with granola, which was amazing, but my boyfriend had the full breakfast which included: the yogurt parfait, cinnamon French toast with a generous serving of fruit and whipped cream, one of the most delicious sausages I’ve ever tasted and a fresh baked cheese scone. Very generous breakfast and everything tasted homemade and really tasty :) we will definitely be back!!

Not a fan. Room had no shower... Unless you consider a tub with a hand shower attachment a shower, maybe that's on me for not validating exactly from the website. Host didn't listen to my dietary concerns instead only cared about allergies which weren't my issue which meant I was not able to eat several of the items made. The plumbing,maybe in our room only, was extremely loud and would do something every couple of hours which kept waking us up throughout the night. Only positive I have is that the bed was comfy.
