LOBA TULUM

I’m not one to give one star or thump on a business, but I’m an entrepreneur with multiple vacation rentals in 4 countries. The property was clean and pleasant enough. My biggest beef is the owners really don’t seem to care. To wit, absolutely no,signage and difficult to find. Once found not one person was at the hotel to let me in. It was hot and took more than 30 mins- so no,signage and no coordination for checkin, but that’s nothing to havin an extra charge which I screen shot from my VISA TO the manager who replied, “ but our processor does not have that charge”.Uhhh, obviously it has your hotel listed as payee along with the 2 correct charges. What was a drag and I tried to explain which is if I dispute the charge, Citibank will void the card and reissue a new one. Only problem is I live in Mexico. It will take 5 weeks to bet my Citibank Costco card! Is it not obvious..as it turns out, Citibank was cool, understood and today the 50 bucks was credited. But I’m a busy guy and this was a waste of time which is pretty valuable.You be the judge.

Rip off place, i booked a room in November, and paid for it, in December way before we were traveling, i cancelled our stay and waited for the reimbursement of the amount i paid. They refused to give it back, because i didn’t have a cancellation Email, because i only realized they didn’t reimburse us after 3 months, so i sent them a copy of our credit card statement, clearly showing our name, date, and amount. But they still refused. I even got into a fight with the person who handles the payment/Emails and had to give up. So be careful booking this place, they don’t care for their clients only about taking your money and giving nothing in return. I even proposed to them not to return the money but give us a credit for a future stay. But even that they refused.

It is an excellent hotel. For "men only". What a nice experience. The managers are great and very helpful.

Stayed here last week and it’s been one of the best experiences of stays in a hotel. The hotel gives such a cool secluded treehouse vibes. Very relaxing atmosphere. It’s a great location that’s close enough to the city center but still far enough from the noise. Lots of restaurants nearby, as well as a pharmacy for all your needs. There is also a bike rental place around the corner that will give you a discounted rate for staying at Loba. (Bike riding in Tulum turned out to be a highlight for me.) The rooms are very spacious with lots of storage and a nice wardrobe, bed is huge and comfortable, and the bathroom is a good size. Rooftop pools is where I spent most of my time. 2 pools, so you can hang at one and get tons of uninterrupted sun, or go to the other side and stay in the shade. Great place for mingling with the other guests. Gustavo is very personable, kind, and attentive to his guests. He makes a really great breakfast, as well! The bar is welcoming and a great space to meet the other guys staying there and just hang out. Also, Gustavo makes fantastic drinks. Oh, and there is even a cool boutique clothing shop in the front of the hotel with great outfits, swimwear, and accessories if you feel like shopping for some Tulum fashions. 10/10 recommend and already planning my return!

Amazing gay only men hotel. Chilled, relaxed. Is it like being in a tree house. Amazing atmosphere and many places nearby to eat. In the middle of the Aldea Zama jungle

If you’re white or white passing this is the place for you, no diversity

First visit to tulum and stayed here with a few friends. Loved the community feel of the place. Big rooms and comfortable beds. Great ac. Good Wi-Fi was able to work remotely. Gustavo and Bruno were gracious hosts! All the guests were very friendly. Enjoyed the location on the pedestrian way. Was challenging to get to at first, but once I got the lay of the land it worked well. Plenty of cafes in the area to walk to. Would suggest renting a car or scooter to get beyond the neighborhood. There’s free parking in the area. Note that tulum is working on infrastructure so power does occasionally go out in different neighborhoods. Water pumps are electric. Property is close to the beach but not in the hotel zone. Great spot between beach and Centro. Easy access to explore all the different areas of tulum. Will return!
