I booked a room at the Rivet House because my wife and I were attending a concert in Athens. I didn’t know anything about it except that it wasn’t part of a chain, which was appealing. When we arrived, we were initially a bit creeped out because the hotel sits at the back of what appears to be an industrial area. Warehouses. Freight yards. We were worried we had booked our stay at a no-tell-motel. Then we arrived and our concerns were cast aside. The hotel is gorgeous and historic. The building is quaint and beautiful, speaking to the history of the site. The valet parking attendant knew enough about the building and grounds to educate us about the site and its history. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The amenities are first rate. If you choose to stay here, rather than being offended by the structural I-beams present throughout the building, appreciate the history behind them. Listen for the echoes of the men and women who worked in the building when it didn’t have windows. And enjoy your stay.

We stayed here during the ice storm because I was very pregnant and afraid we wouldn’t be able to get to the hospital if we needed to. The staff was so nice, the valet jumped to help with all our bags and parking and making sure I didn’t slip on the ice, front desk people were so nice and left us a sweet baby gift in the room. We sat at the bar and had dinner Saturday night which was delicious and we talked with the bar tender who was very friendly. Sunday the restaurant was closed because of the weather and staff was really nice helping us get coffee and pastries and making us hot water to make the food we brought. The room was beautiful and very comfortable to wait out the storm. The staff was what really made our stay though. And luckily we did not have to go to the hospital in the storm! We definitely would love to stay here again and visit the spa!

This building is very nice and a cool looking. Restaurant is fantasic. Bar was nice - great food and drinks. The rooms a very very small. It’s right by a railroad track that will blow past the provided noise maker multiple times a night. The technology in the room is really lacking. No steaming options - all satellite that was lagging and glitching the entire time. You’re paying for a cool look and feel here not for any real amenities - it’s very very expensive for what you get. This is ritz Carlton money for like - I don’t know - aloft amenities. But it looks very cool and the people are nice.

Attempted to call the front desk 3 times on a Saturday at 4-4:30 pm with no answer. Unable to get ahold of anyone.

Besides Vegas and other major city hotel suites and penthouses this is up there with it. I was pretty impressed by their king suite room and the modern, sleek design with a timeless touch. The hotel is very modern, yet has a timeless touch with wood beams throughout it very well articulated.

Genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room, the restaurant, and the attention to detail were next to none. They knew I was coming to celebrate an occasion (a heart surgery and birthday) and Cara decked out my room, got me welcome gifts personalized to me, and the Olio staff had a custom menu for me, gave me a card signed by the entire staff, and a dessert. They honestly could not have made my stay any better. I will absolutely be spending every occasion here - even sending my mom for her birthday this week. Best hotel, food, and ambiance in Athens.

The story of this hotel is a mixed bag. First, the building is beautiful, the staff we met are wonderful. The location is 6 minute drive outside Athens. If you decide to stay here prepare yourself, the hotel is located in a light industrial area. The downside is that the backside of the hotel is literally 30-50 feet away, at the same level as the second floor. And it is active. We changed our room to the parking lot side thankfully, but it was still noisy at midnight, midnight 30, and 2:30AM. The hotel has a beautiful outside area and restaurant as well as a spa. Sadly, one is able to connect to the WIFI, but it does not seem to work very well, choppy, lags, no connection messages.

Ugh. I wish I'd read the reviews before booking for our granddaughter's graduation. Hopefully, others will. I saw the 4-star hotel rating & had to respond. The idea of this rating being 4 stars is QUITE off the mark. My hubby & I travel the world and stay in 4- & 5-star luxury hotels; this one is NOT. It's a solid 3, not 3+. We stayed 2 nights, Wed & Thurs. LOCATION: It's located RIGHT NEXT to an active train track. I'm a writer and stayed up overnight to finish a project. There were 4 long trains passing by, from 11p till 6a, that each took 2mins to pass. ROOMS: (Yes, there is a noise machine & ear plugs in the room.) 🙄 Added to that noise was the random loud engine (or something!) -and- the guests talking (in average voices) in rooms next to me! The walls truly are PAPER THIN. Unbelievable. SERVICE: Service was just ok, even though everyone was polite. We didn't get wash cloths the second day; another request to the front desk was never responded to or met. The restaurant stayed busy. We ate in lounge chairs to get on in & got ok attention. Had to flag servers down twice. So! Arm yourself, as I did not, and if you choose to book, you know what to expect.

Great stay at Rivet house, isn’t walkable to downtown Athens but comfortable hotel. Hotel and restaurant have great boutique meets industrial vibe, with well stocked bar. For the most part the staff was friendly and had good service. The restaurant Osteria Olio was sooo good! Our waiter Zach did such a great job with recommendations and service. Chef Braeden’s Fusilli Con Salsiccia was some of the best pasta I have ever had! If in Athens this gem of a hotel and restaurant are a MUST. We will be back!

The room felt like a quiet little haven: clean, thoughtfully designed, with lots of light and a relaxed layout that helped me unwind after a long day. The overall feeling was calm without being boring — a good balance between upscale and laid-back. One of the highlights for me was the sense that Rivet House is made both for visitors and locals who just want a change of scenery. There’s an on-site restaurant and bar (and even a spa), which makes it easy to treat yourself to a full evening: no need to plan transport, no need to search for another spot — everything you need is right there. The staff felt welcoming and friendly, and from check-in to check-out the experience never felt rushed or overly formal. If there’s one thing to keep in mind: Rivet House doesn’t feel like a flashy resort. It’s more understated elegance and quality than loud luxury. If you’re looking for something simple and anonymous — a bed for the night — this might feel like a bit more than you need. But if you’re looking for a “staycation” vibe or a night out where comfort, aesthetics, and ease matter, this place really works. Bottom line: Rivet House feels like a thoughtful, calm escape — a boutique-style hideaway that balances charm, comfort, and just enough character to make a stay feel special. I’d definitely stay there again.
