Bangor Pride

Bangor Pride is the volunteer-run organization behind central and northern Maine's largest LGBTQ+ celebration, held each June in downtown Bangor with a parade, live performances and a community festival. For many years Pride was organized by the Health Equity Alliance (HEAL); after HEAL closed in 2025, Bangor Pride continued under its own organizing group with the Downtown Bangor Partnership acting as fiscal sponsor. The event draws hundreds of participants and allies from across the region and remains the focal point of the area's LGBTQ+ community life, which is built around events and organizations rather than dedicated nightlife venues.
