W Chicago - City Center

It’s clean and in a convenient location but otherwise it’s a really uncomfortable Place to stay. Room is cold at night (spring time), no light coming in if not facing the street, and the bathroom is so cramped I have to sit on the toilet sideways. Water pressure is low I have to shampoo twice. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Loved staying here - spacious room, complimentary bottled water, fantastic location and not too crowded, even on Memorial Day weekend. Property itself nearly 100 years old and had read reviews not so positive, but we loved it. We did have an internal view rather than street view, which is what we expected for the price and room type. Didn’t eat or drink at the hotel, but the bar looked inviting and breakfast was an option - we were too busy exploring other options.

Take it or leave it it’s your choice but the service here is probably the worst I have ever experienced in all my stays with Marriott. Not everyone was rude but one specific guy name started with a D (can’t remember his name) that works at the front desk really is bringing the brand down. He ignored me when I was directly talking to him and told him he dropped our bag ticket. He made it seem like a chore to get my bags after we asked them to hold it for us while we traveled for the day after checkout. Constantly huffing and puffing. They just need more customer service training. The rooms are severely outdated and don’t match the vibe of the lobby with inputs that aren’t even used anymore. Overall for the price, my wife and I won’t stay here again but the location is good for sure.

The rooms are small and the bathroom tiny. But the worst part is that we felt ripped off... we made the reservation through Booking.com with breakfast included... when we arrived they told us there was a $50 credit for breakfast... at breakfast, no dish on the menu was less than $25 and on top of that, each coffee was $7... we paid $40 for a breakfast that was already included.

Great front desk service even tho their system didnt register my reservation all I had to do was forward my confirmation email and they took good care of me? The room was good but I could tell it was someone else's since there was a car on the desk addressing that person lol but overall good for the stay!

Unique and classic hotel, part of Marriott chain. Lovely to stay, best bar and large room.

We took the orange line from the Midway airport to the Quincy stop and the hotel was under a 5 minute walk. Easy walk to the Amtrak train station too. The gentleman at the front desk was not only professional but personable.

A hidden gem in the heart of downtown Chicago! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is amazing! The best part of my stay, though, was the staff. Every time I would return in the evening I would be greeted by Juan or Israel with an enthusiastic "Welcome back!". Fatima, Chris and Chaad at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. The housekeepers are amazing! My room was always serviced and immaculate. Great location, close to public transportation, Union station, Sears/Willis tower, all within walking distance. If your travels bring you to Chicago, I can't recommend the Midland enough. Very well maintained and managed property. Thank you for a great stay!

For a marriot chain you’d expect high standards in the room, but generally needs a refresh. Service from team was great

I am typically very generous when it comes to my reviews. This is not one of those instances. Located just above the "el" in downtown, if you are given a street facing room, you too can live out your own blues brothers fantasy. "How often does the train go by? So often you won't even notice." A small room with zero sound proofing, no in room coffee and hair from previous guests all over the bathroom. The tub stopper was broken and had to be propped open with my toothbrush. Then there was the hvac system (video attached). I've spent more restful nights in a motel 6 next to Wright Patterson airforce base than here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Midland hotel. My wife and I checked in around 11 am on Saturday which we knew the room wouldn't be available yet. Chaad R was checking us in and we asked if it was possible if he could have our bags sent to our room when it was ready because we wouldn't be back till later that evening. He said absolutely and when we arrived they were there along with a nice personalized note. It made us feel very welcomed. Nice job Chaad giving 5 star service.
