Fantastic location, amazing service, lots of things to do within the hotel as staff organized many activities for guests to participate. Would gladly stay again!
Nice vibes and customer experience. Paper thin walls made sleep difficult from indoor & outdoor noise.
Our experience at the Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach was incredibly disappointing and fell far below expectations. One of the biggest issues was the event space itself. During conversations with management, we discussed changing our event room to better accommodate our guest count. We relied on those discussions and believed the change would be made. However, the room change was never reflected in the contract, and no one brought this discrepancy to our attention before the event. When the problems that resulted from the room assignment were raised afterward, management simply pointed to the contract and refused to take any responsibility, despite the prior conversations that had taken place. As a result, our celebration was held in an overcrowded space with more than 50 guests, despite previously being told the room’s maximum capacity was 40. This created an uncomfortable experience for our guests and raised serious safety concerns. To make matters worse, our designated point of contact was not even present on the day of our event. No one greeted us upon arrival, introduced themselves as the lead contact for the evening, or provided any guidance on who was managing our celebration. We were left searching for answers throughout the event. The lack of organization continued with the music. Music was not provided until near the end of the event. When we asked about it, staff placed a speaker on a table where guests were actively eating, which felt like an afterthought rather than a planned service. The bar service was another major disappointment. We paid for beverages but never received. Multiple guests had to repeatedly instruct the bartender on how to make basic cocktails because drinks were being prepared incorrectly. Guests should not have to coach the bartender on standard drink recipes during a paid private event. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and reflected a lack of professionalism and preparation. Combined with the beverages we paid for but never received, the bar service failed to meet even basic expectations. What is most disappointing is the complete lack of accountability from management. Rather than acknowledging the communication failures, overcrowding concerns, missing services, and poor event execution, we were told there was nothing they would do because of the wording in the contract. For a venue that markets itself as a premier beachfront event destination, the level of communication, professionalism, and customer service we experienced was unacceptable. We cannot recommend Kimpton Shorebreak for special events and would strongly encourage future couples and event hosts to get every verbal promise documented in writing.

Great location and Kimpton. Staff was friendly and helpful. We traveled with our dog and this hotel is very dog friendly. You’re right on the beach. We grabbed beach chairs, bikes, and towels from the hotel front desk. Would definitely come back! We were given an anniversary gift in our room and the s’mores at night were a great touch. Family friendly hotel
Absolutely hands down one of my favorite places to stay. It feels like home as soon as we walk in. Staff is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous. Jackie the manager is do outgoing and friendly I feel.like I am welcomed by my sister. The location could not be anymore perfect.
My stay at Kimpton Shorebreak was worth every penny! From check in with Kel to lunch at Pacific Hideaway to every single staff member I interacted with, I'm blown away. Every staff member has a smile on their face and is extremely helpful, there's so much attention to detail, and so many amenities and happenings (bike rentals, s'mores, happy hour, coffee/tea bar, etc). And the location can't be beat. I'll never stay anywhere else when I come to HB.
