WoodSpring Suites Miami Southwest

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend for two nights while attending a wedding, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We specifically chose this hotel because it advertised itself as “pet friendly.” We traveled with our kitten because she is too young to be left alone, and we came fully prepared with a zipped playpen enclosure that contained her litter box, food, and everything she needed. She was not going to roam freely around the hotel room, and we explained this to the front desk employee. When my husband first went inside to check in, the employee immediately told him that cats were not allowed. This confused us because the hotel clearly advertises itself as pet friendly, and a cat is obviously a pet. After my husband came back outside to explain the situation, I called my mother and arranged for her to stay with our kitten instead. Then suddenly, when my husband went back inside to explain that, the employee changed his story and said we could keep the kitten if we paid a $50 cleaning fee. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable or trusted the situation because it went from “absolutely no cats allowed” to “cats are allowed if you pay extra.” When my husband informed the employee that my mother-in-law would instead stay with the kitten, the employee became rude and told him that his “story keeps changing” and warned that if they found a cat in the room, they would come into the room and kick us out. That comment was completely unprofessional and honestly made us uncomfortable. Guests should not feel threatened or worried that hotel staff may enter their room unexpectedly. Unfortunately, the issues did not stop there. During our stay, someone actually tried to open our room door while we were inside. We had to yell that we were in the room because I was not dressed at the time. The overall environment felt unsafe and chaotic with constant movement and activity throughout the hotel. On top of that, the cleanliness was unacceptable. The beds had what looked like bug debris or particles on them, the sheets were dirty, the bathroom was dirty, and worst of all, there were roaches in the room. We were barely at the hotel because we were attending wedding events all weekend, so we did not spend our time taking pictures or documenting every issue. However, the experience was bad enough that I feel compelled to warn others. Given the rude customer service, concerns about safety, and unsanitary room conditions including roaches, I am requesting a refund for our stay. I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

I had to book a late last minute room and I came across this location and they had one room left so I took it. As soon as I walked in and went straight to the bed and opened up the sheets only to find two roaches running around absolutely disgusting

No room service in 5 days.You have to wash your towels in order to get new ones.Ridiculous!

Absolutely no complaints. The room is clean, there's laundry, the showers are hot, and the staff are helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent Stay at WoodSpring Suites – South Miami My stay at WoodSpring Suites South Miami from March 12–16, 2026 was a very good experience. The hotel has strong management and a staff that truly cares about the residents staying there. I especially want to recognize Ian, who was one of the best employees I encountered. He treated me with kindness and respect and always made sure things were handled the right way. Although he has moved to another state, his professionalism left a lasting impression. I also want to thank Terrance, the manager, and Richard for their great service. I personally witnessed them treating residents with patience, respect, and a willingness to help whenever someone needed assistance. It’s clear they take pride in their work and in making guests feel welcome. Overall, this location has a good team that works hard to help people during their stay. The rooms smell bad, there are cockroaches, it's very expensive for the service offered, the shower barely has any water, and the rooms are dirty.
