About this place WoodSpring Suites Miami Southwest

WoodSpring Suites Miami Southwest is a budget extended-stay hotel at 16055 SW 117th Avenue, in the suburbs south of Kendall. It is a mainstream hotel listed as gay-friendly; there is no specific LGBTQ angle to it. Suites are simple and come with kitchenettes, and there is free Wi-Fi and a guest lounge. Housekeeping is limited, as is usual for extended-stay brands. It makes sense for long stays, work trips or visits to family in south Miami-Dade. It is a long drive, 45 minutes or more, to South Beach and the city's main gay nightlife, so it is not a practical base for a holiday. The Google rating is 3.5 from about 770 reviews.

I had the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked several nights based on the pictures online, but when I arrived, the lobby had a very unpleasant smell. During check-in, the front desk attendant charged my card and barely explained anything—just handed me my key and said I was good to go. When I got to the room, I was shocked. It looked like something out of a horror movie. The walls were dirty, the bed looked nothing like the photos, and both the room and hallways smelled terrible. As soon as we saw the condition of the room, we went back downstairs and spoke with the front desk. They offered to show us other rooms, but after seeing the overall condition of the property, we declined. The entire place felt neglected and unsafe. They informed us that we would still be charged for one night even though we didn’t stay, which I understand, but there is no way I would have stayed there even if you will pay me a million dollars. We immediately left and booked another hotel that was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we expected. Please be very careful when making reservations here. The online photos are extremely misleading.

This place needs serious renovation and also better maintenance, changed 3 rooms just to find no hot water in any of them. The washing machines don't work. It's well located close to the highway.

I failed to read the fine print, I suppose. Floor was dirty when we first came in. They don't clean rooms daily, you are to use same towel for the duration of stay, no iron in room.

The hotel was disgustingly dirty, in a terrible area, and there was absolutely nothing around it. I couldn’t sleep because the smell was unbearable. I would never recommend anyone stay in this so-called hotel.
