Exceptional service from All of the Staff. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the Room Lighting by the nightstand and the ceiling is way Too Glaring, Too Bright, Too Harsh on the Eyes and Too Blue (they should be 2700K or lower (these are 5000K)). Excessive Blue Light during nighttime hours is unhealthy for maintaining a healthy circadian rhythm.
This hotel is in a great location, although it feels a little secluded. The entrance can be somewhat confusing at first, but it’s not difficult to find. The staff were friendly, and both the facilities and the food were good. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but that’s also reflected in the reasonable price. Overall, it offers good value for the money. With some renovations and updates, I would definitely consider staying here again.
While planning my trip to Miami, I was looking for a hotel that offered a good balance between price, comfort, and location. I found exactly that at the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Kendall. The hotel is a little secluded and sits about 30 to 40 minutes from Miami Beach, depending on traffic. For me, that was perfectly fine since I wanted something quieter and more affordable. One of the first things I appreciated was the ample parking, which is included with your stay. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I noticed how clean, bright, and well maintained everything was. The staff immediately welcomed me and throughout my stay every employee I interacted with was friendly, professional, and accommodating. Unfortunately, I did not get anyone’s names, which is a shame because the customer service was consistently excellent. As a Hilton Honors member, I was welcomed with two complimentary bottles of water. The hotel also offered fresh cookies in the lobby, chilled lemon and watermelon infused water for guests, and complimentary breakfast each morning from 7 AM to 10 AM, which was a nice bonus. I stayed in Room 320, a King Room. It was a comfortable size for one person. The bed was on the firmer side, which I personally liked. The room was clean and included both a desk chair and an additional sitting chair. The bathroom was spacious and could easily accommodate two people without feeling cramped. One thing I think more hotel reviews should mention is the room amenities. This room included both a microwave and a mini refrigerator. When you are on vacation and bringing back leftovers from restaurants, those two items are incredibly useful. Being able to store and reheat food saved both money and time during my stay. One small suggestion I would make is to include basic utensils in the room. One evening I reheated leftovers and realized I needed a fork. The front desk happily provided one, but it would have been more convenient to have a few disposable utensils already available in the room. The hotel also has a pool. It is not a resort style pool, but it was clean, well maintained, and more than adequate for relaxing. My friend flew down for the final night of my trip and booked his own room, which I believe was Room 517, and it was a king room as well. His room was nearly twice the size of mine and he had no complaints about his stay either. Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, and well maintained hotel with excellent staff, useful amenities, complimentary parking, and solid value. If you are looking for a dependable place to stay in the Miami area without paying Miami Beach prices, I would absolutely recommend it and would gladly stay here again.
Flight got canceled day of hotel stay. Egencia was used to book the hotel. As such Egencia called to see if the hotel would waive the cancelation fee. The hotel agreed; however, my credit card was charged the cancellation fee. Thinking this would be reversed I waited a couple days; however it was not. As such I reach out to Egencia for them to call the hotel. Once again it was promised to have the cancelation fee refunded. Days go by and no refund issued. Egencia Called again, this time hotel said they needed manager approval to issue refund who was not in hotel and for us to call back. Call back once again and stated need manager approval And manager not on site. Called again and this time the manager requested an email to be sent. Here we are weeks later and multiple calls to hotel with no refund. If you were planning not to refund just state that but to drag this out is insane. Had another trip to Miami and planned to book this hotel, but they lost my business for good. Terrible business practice here.
Nice rooms and they serve a great breakfast. 4 stars because it was a bit more than what we we wanted to spend and a couple of rather minor details but that stuck in my mind.
Everything was okay and tidy. Very good breakfast.
