TWA Hotel

One of the most exciting hotel experiences weve had. The place serves also as an interactive hotel. There's beautiful bar and restaurants in the hotel, fun activities for kids and lots of things to see. We've gone back several times.

I was really disappointed with my stay at the TWA Hotel. The customer service from the Filipino front desk was the biggest issue. The staff came across as uninterested and unhelpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance. It felt like guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority. The hotel itself has a unique design and great concept, but that doesn’t make up for poor service. A memorable hotel experience depends on how you’re treated, and unfortunately, the customer service fell well below my expectations. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless they make significant improvements in how they treat their guests.

We will never do any business with this hotel again. We were “repeat customers” and unfortunately due to a family members terminal illness and being admitted into hospice care we were forced to cancel our trip and our stay at the hotel. Today my wife called and explained our situation and they were only willing to refund us the taxes but not the cost of the room. Believe me, we did not want to cancel our vacation or the hotel room but under the circumstances we had no choice.

There's only one restaurant that is overpriced. For the money I would have hoped for food that was, at least, as good as I can make myself. It isn't In my opinion, the only thing that this hotel has going for it is the location. We flew in on an international flight and we're leaving on JetBlue for a domestic flight. There's an elevator here that brings you right into the JetBlue terminal. If you can tolerate a shuttle to a different hotel, it might be worth doing so, unless you are flying JetBlue. Update July 6th 2026 Our flight was cancelled, as were a great many others, due to weather. No rooms available at the hotel and there were a number of us looking for someplace comfortable to rest as it was very late at night. There were people resting their heads on tables and some others lying down wherever they were able to do so. Someone representing the hotel woke everyone up saying, "You can sit here but not sleep. This is a hotel". We reminded him that the hotel was fully booked. He came around multiple times to awaken exhausted travelers. Despicable if you ask me! Long gone are the days where a manager, recognizing the plight of weary travelers, would instead offer coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This hotel is absurdly over priced, the food is mediocre and "Hospitality" is apparently a word unknown to this establishment.

I ended up staying here for free because my JetBlue flight was canceled, but they gave me a basement room... My phone didn't work and the front desk staff were unfriendly ㅠㅠ I wouldn't go there if I had to pay...

Great layover hotel located at JFK Terminal 5. Take the JFK Sky Train from other terminals (T4, T1, T7, T8) to Terminal 5 and follow the sign to TWA Hotel. A bit of a walk along the airport ground level road side from Terminal 5 Sky Train station parking lot lift to ground level and follow the google durection towards the hotel. Otherwise take the direct access TWA red color lift on the right end of JFK Terminal 5 Arrival level to TWA Hotel through the TWA link bridge.

Okay so lets start with the pros: - Really cool design - Great if you have a next day transfer as we did Unfortunately that’s about it. The service here was pretty god awful. Most of the workers seem to not care at all. There was one person working our check in. A short line of people waiting to check in took nearly 45 mins to process. Not what you want when weary after a long flight. After receiving our room keys, we go to the room to discover that it is ground level with an ever so lovely view of traffic and construction. For some context, there were quite a few flight delays that day and many people had to book rooms last minute. This means that they were giving the higher floor rooms to last minute reservations as opposed to those who had reservations from weeks earlier. That’s wild. Imagine getting in from your long flight late at night to discover the expensive hotel gave you the worst rooms. But whatever, it wasn’t worth arguing. We set our stuff down and had an incredibly mediocre meal at the Paris Cafe. One caveat here is that there was one chef working an extremely busy restaurant so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt there. Room TVs have no Netflix or Chromecast, you get cable. No in-room coffee or toiletries really. Shower doesn’t have a door so the water sprays on the ground. Bed is decently comfy. There’s like one or two trashcans in the entire hotel. Workers at every single stall seem to hate it here. You have to buy a drink to sit in the Sunken Lounge when you’re already paying a premium just to stay at the hotel. Floors and carpets are dingy. The pool looked gnarly. The TWA hotel functions as more of a tourist novelty than a hotel. It is not worth it in my opinion.

Do not stay here. The service is awful and the staff is unhelpful. The food options are mediocre/bad. You are also not allowed to sit in the main lobby lounging area unless you get a drink from the bar which feels wild especially when it’s empty. There are no trash cans anywhere in the rooms or the lobby areas. The carpeting in the halls is a nightmare to roll your luggage. The soap dispensers in the bathrooms barely work? The music is too loud during all hours of the day/night. Also the rooms didn’t have any streaming services to log into. The pool is dirty/unkept. It’s honestly a shame. The building is cool but the management is terrible. They obviously depend on the convince of passengers to stay here and have absolutely missed the mark on hospitality. Absolutely regret staying here.
