UVU LGBTQ+ Program (Utah Valley University)

The Utah Valley University LGBTQ+ program is the one genuinely local LGBTQ+ resource physically in Orem. Housed within UVU's Office of Inclusion (Intercultural Engagement) on the Orem campus, it provides advising, advocacy, a welcoming lounge space, and regular discussion and support groups for queer and questioning students, staff, and community members. UVU is the largest university in Utah by enrollment, and its program has become an important anchor for LGBTQ+ life in conservative Utah County. Alongside the office, the student-run club Spectrum: Queers & Allies Association (a longstanding group that grew out of the campus Gay-Straight Alliance) organizes social events, activism, and peer support through the school year. Visitors and new arrivals can reach the program at lgbtq@uvu.edu for information on what is happening on and around campus. It is the best first point of contact for queer community in Orem itself.
