We sat in the treehouse area upstairs. Got the ricotta appetizer then the beet salad - both were very good. The servers were very attentive without being disruptive. The Piano Bar aspect was a lot of fun.

Clearly this place is generally very good but we had a pretty terrible experience from top to bottom on Memorial Day weekend. Our server was friendly and warned us basically right away that they were short staffed and had a new bartender, which kind of set the tone for the evening. First off, Sunday is normally their Italian night menu (and their regular menu isn’t offered). Since it was a holiday Sunday, we weren’t sure whether it would be the Italian menu or the regular menu. We would have been fine with either, but you’d think it might be noted on social media or on the website and it wasn’t. Regular menu it was. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, which would have been really good if they hadn’t been room temperature. They ended up being the highlight of the evening. Two of us had the wild blue yonder cocktail, which tasted like basically only elderflower tonic. It was not mixed properly. But the glass of white wine was good (and cold!). My husband’s pork chop, which was supposed to be cooked sous vide to medium rare, was bone dry, not that he could eat it for the first 5 minutes it was out because he didn’t have a knife. I had the salmon with couscous, quinoa, and mushrooms. The salmon was cooked well but the entire dish was under seasoned. Our friend had the beet salad with salmon, which he said was “fine.” Later, on my way back from the bathroom, I was looking at the art on the wall (it’s all really good, and for sale) near the hostess stand and she basically screamed, “Can I help you?” so loudly that I jumped. Overall, everyone working seemed pretty stressed out and frazzled, so I’m just chalking it up to a bad night. But this was one of the worst meals I’ve had out in recent memory, and considering we spent north of $200 for three people, felt like a rip off. This is only the second non-5-star review I’ve ever given on Google. They need to get properly staffed and get back to basics.

So, we’ve come to rehobeth the last few years and always enjoy a nice meal at the pines. They need to get back to basics and improve service. We sat promptly at 7:45, but didn’t get our food until 9:15. They said they had a big party. The sever said we’d been about 30 min delayed with food. We asked multiple times for more water, some bread or another appetizer and it was ignored. The server stopped back once, forgot a few drink orders and overall was a mess. With the prices we hoped for more. .

Finally got some real house music around here. Amazing vibe, great cocktails and DJ Fixed Rate was absolutely on point all night.

Had dinner at The Pines last night and WOW… their Monday Night $29 filet special was absolutely incredible. 🤍 The filet literally melted in your mouth, the mashed potatoes were rich and creamy, the green beans were sautéed perfectly, and it even came with a glass of Cabernet. Such a great meal for the price. And at our waitress’s recommendation, we ordered the Key lime pie for dessert… and I have to say, as a bit of a Key lime pie connoisseur, it may have been one of the best I’ve ever had outside of Key West. 🍋‍🟩✨ Definitely one of those dinners where every single thing on the plate was done right. We’ll absolutely be back for this one again
