Goolee's Grille

Goolee's is a plain diner at 11 South 1st Street serving American breakfast and lunch with beer and brunch drinks. It is gay-owned (George Stakias), and its drag brunch, held on the third Sunday of the month for more than eight years, is the original one in town. In July 2025 a church group announced a protest against the brunch and hundreds of people turned up to support the restaurant instead (Washington Blade). Brunch seats go fast, so book ahead for drag Sundays.
