Quirk Hotel Richmond

While Quirk Hotel provides a beautiful backdrop and nice accommodations, I would not recommend hosting a wedding there. We had our wedding in April and were extremely disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and poor customer service that we experienced. On the day of, we were one of 7 events happening that day, and were made to feel like an inconvenience for having our reception on the rooftop. The venue coordinator, who was not able to be there that day, called me at 8 a.m. to say the staff said it was ‘a little chilly’ and if I wanted to make the decision to move to the indoor plan. Given that the rooftop portion of the day was starting at 11:30, when it would be much warmer outside, we chose to move forward with original plan… which turned out to be perfect weather, if not a bit warm. Our venue coordinator assured us that the courtyard and the rooftop were properly set up for our event the night before, so she did not need to come in that morning to double check. Neither space was properly set-up to our Quirk approved floor plan…. ceremony chairs had to be added at the last minute and there was excess furniture on the rooftop. The Quirk staff, when asked by my coordination team as to why the rooftop was not set to plan, did not make any attempts to fix the set-up and acted like they had never seen the floor plan that was discussed at the final walkthrough and designed using Quirk’s floor plan software. One of the biggest and most disappointing issues of the day was the quality of the food served at the brunch reception. We had a tasting 4 weeks prior to our wedding, and the food was delicious. There was a stark contrast from what we tasted to what was served on the day-of, especially with the French Toast, which was one of the main entrees. The Banquet Event Order was not followed by the catering team as several items were missing or incorrect. The week after our wedding, I relayed all of this information to the venue coordinator over a phone call. Again, she was not present on the day so had not heard this information, only that her team said the event went well. This is where we experienced very poor customer service— the email response back to me from the venue coordinator was very “he said, she said” and they lied, saying that my coordination team never approached their team to change the rooftop set-up. This is when we also found out that due to an “internal miscommunication” we were served the gluten free version of the French Toast. We were offered a very small percentage off of our final bill, to account for food items being missing/incorrect. I responded to that email within 24 hours, expressing our continued frustration and disappointment, asking specifically for contact information for a manager to speak to. That email went unanswered for two weeks, until I sent an email to her and a manager, once again, expressing frustration and that I would be writing a review. Of course, that email was responded to with-in an hour, with no accountability for the lack of response from the first email. That email said they wanted to “continue working toward a resolution in good faith.” I responded within 3 days and almost a month later, have not heard anything back from them and was never reached out to by a manger. As someone that has worked in the wedding industry for 8 years, having previously been a venue coordinator, I was incredibly disappointed by the lack of customer service we experienced. To have important communications go unanswered is completely unacceptable. The lack of attention to detail was also unacceptable. After speaking with other wedding professionals, this seems to be par for the course with Quirk. There definitely seems to be ‘quantity over quality’ aspect to how events are handled. I would highly recommend searching for a different venue for your wedding. Our wedding day was beautiful and fun, despite the issues we encountered from Quirk, but do have some lingering regrets about investing so much into a venue that didn’t value a quality experience and customer service.

Do not get hurt or need assistance on their property. Unfortunately they will just tell you to uber for help. I injured my foot in their “valet” area around the corner. Mind you the street is narrow and their valet are is super congested and only one person works. Not only that but in order to valet you have your come inside (mind you where are you going to park). Sadly with the unclear directions and horrible placement you will end up on the cafe side. The sidewalk is very cracked old, unkept. As a visitor in the city you have no idea. So right in the valets are in front of their door I twisted my ankle. A worker at the door and saw me and I asked for help and she stated “no habla ingles’ and walked away forcing me to limp to their front desk just to be told “yea that area is tricky, I busted my knee the other week”. Thinking i would receive help and understanding from the hotel , they brushed me off. Mind you I had to go to urgent care and still In Pt. They say they are for the community and care about their costumers but I am not seeing that. I just ask for them to make things right

I had a great stay here. I stayed in a suite, and the room was beautiful and really comfortable. I especially loved the design, the large windows, and how unique the whole space felt. A special thank you to Latoya at the front desk, she was so kind and helpful and made the stay even better. Overall, it was a really lovely experience and I’d gladly stay here again.

We had a great time! Jordan is an excellent bar tender who learns his customers and what they like we even followed him to the rooftop bar. He is friendly, prompt and professional. Kelly was an excellent help especially when it came to ordering food and getting it quick!. We enjoyed the rooftop bar to an extent. THERES NO SHADE! No umbrellas, no rolling awnings no nothing. It’s so hot it’s unbearable. Managment should 1000% consider fixing this. There could be so much more business if there was more shade and fans. Make it more accommodating to EVERYONE!

The room not clean and if you complain you never got other clean room they explain it’s old hotel historic but that not true is dirty rooms

I enjoyed my stay at the Quirk! The service was impeccable! Shout out it to Latoya at the front desk. She was so sweet and accommodating. Also, I forgot the young man’s name who checked me in, but he was very kind as well. The two Nicks and Eli with PMC were dope as well. It’s good to know that customer service is not dead. I would definitely book again.❤️❤️❤️

A luxury, boutique hotel that exceeded expectations. We held a bridal shower and a stay for the bride and groom. Every detail was managed with care. The social sales manager was attentive to details, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Communication was prompt and clear. Exceptional value and a memorable experience. Highly recommend for an unforgettable event or stay.

My place of business is located very near to Quirk Hotel. We have hosted a few corporate social events there because of the proximity. We have always enjoyed the welcoming and inviting atmosphere at Quirk. The Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and never fail to provide us with a great event. Whether you're looking for a room for your next getaway or just looking for a chill spot to grab a drink and/or bite between appointments, you won't be disappointed at Quirk. Highly recommend it!

We just had our wedding at quirk and could not have dreamed of a better day! Jasmine, our coordinator through Quirk, was amazing. The day flowed perfectly through the various spaces within the hotel and the decor is just perfect. Our guests can’t say enough good things either! So happy we chose this venue.

We recently celebrated our wedding weekend at Quirk Hotel Richmond, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, everything was seamless, organized, and beautifully executed. The staff went above and beyond to make us, our families, and our guests feel welcomed and cared for throughout the weekend. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, stylish, unique, and full of character which created the perfect atmosphere for every part of our celebration. Every detail was handled with professionalism and care, and the coordination between the hotel staff and vendors made the entire weekend feel effortless on our end. Our guests are still talking about how wonderful the experience was, from the accommodations to the service to the overall ambiance. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Quirk made the process smooth and enjoyable, and we truly felt supported every step of the way. We are incredibly grateful to the entire Quirk team for helping create such a perfect and unforgettable wedding weekend. We would recommend Quirk Hotel Richmond without hesitation to any couple looking for a beautiful venue with an exceptional team behind it.

This place is the biggest scam I've ever stayed at. When you get there, you have to circle the block a few times before you notice the offload spot(slightly big enough for 2 cars) and valet services. There is NO parking for this hotel. At all. It doesn't exist. You can either find a parking lot somewhere else where you're going to spend $30 A DAY to park, or you can use their valet service, which is also $30 a day.... Or so they tell you, then charge you $40 a day. They room is a decent size but that thats about it. The beds are small, the bath room shower doesn't close, the shower hear lacks the pressure for the size of the shower. There is a ridge in the room, But no microwave. The room is on par for a $70 dollar a night room, not $300. There are no drink or food machines, so you either order over price food from the restaurant downstairs of the hotel, or walk 2 blocks to the corner store. The only think good about this place we're the ladies working the front desk. They were very kind and very helpful. this place is a huge waste of money and I wi NEVER stay a night here again.
