Platypus

Platypus is a bar at 4501 Manchester Avenue, at the west entrance to The Grove, in the space that used to be U.R.B. It opened in November 2021. Co-owner Meredith Barry describes it as both a gay bar and a queer bar that also works as a neighbourhood and industry hangout, and Out in STL wrote about it in 2026 as a lesbian-owned bar. Look for the big rainbow LOVE artwork outside. Google rating is 4.7 from about 360 reviews. Prism is across the street and Just John and Rehab are a few blocks east, so it fits easily into a Grove bar crawl. We have no hours on file; check Platypus's Instagram for events.
