Kipping Hotel

Very good hotel,excellent for the price.Verynice breakfast. Close to the main railway station.

We booked the hotel on December 19th, 2025, for the period of December 22nd-23rd, 2025, and the booking was confirmed! On our way to Dresden (550 km), the hotel informed us by phone that we could not have the booked room due to overbooking! (Despite the booking confirmation) This was only communicated at 11:55 AM on the day of arrival!! The response was that it wasn't their problem, but ours! I would like to know how you, when you have an appointment and are sitting in your car, are supposed to find comparable accommodation. The gentleman was very unfriendly and uncooperative. We still haven't received the promised cancellation email!!

First of all, the hotel is in a very good location. Yes, it's not exactly in a place where you'd want to go sightseeing, but it's not even a 5-minute walk for those who need to catch the train. You can leave 10 minutes early and walk if you're sightseeing, but having to walk 10 minutes to catch the train in the morning is a bit much 😅 Anyway, they send your room and password by email. You might not find reception when you arrive 🗿 The Wi-Fi passwords are written in the room. The entrance door password is the same as the room password. The rooms are adequate, with central heating and air conditioning. There's also a small mini-fridge in the room. It's a good value-for-money hotel.

Our room was on the top floor. However, the room layout is relatively small compared to the space in the stairwell and hallway. The bathroom was clean, but the shower door didn't close properly. While it's nice that there are two heaters in the small room, running both when it's around 4 degrees Celsius outside is completely unnecessary. The room was overheated when we arrived. The location is good, just around the corner from the main train station, and it was also easy to reach by car. Parking on the street is significantly cheaper than in the hotel parking lot – only €5 per day instead of €10 at the hotel. This meant we were able to park easily on our departure day and enjoy our day in Dresden during the Christmas season.

Great location near main train station in Dresden - Hauptbahnhof. Staff is online 24/7 with great service. You can book only online but the rooms are well kept and the response is prompt. Great staff for breakfast which is the same every morning but have all you need for a good start of the day. Room was a little chilly but bed and bedding was great so one do not need to hang out in the room just sleep and sleep well. Very great location close to local transport to and from City center and all main Dresden important attractions. The price was great as well and find it at the exact time when I needed most. Thank you. Close by Christmas market from where I let here some photos from places I reached easily from this hotel and from the train station as well, together with the inspired wooden decorations on the breakfast table.

We were there recently and brought home some new guests: bedbugs. Judging by the bad reviews, we must have gotten the good room. We couldn't check out properly and had to contact the owners via WhatsApp to point out some of the room's shortcomings. Specifically, there was no light in the room, and in winter, the blankets were thin with the heating not working. All in all, even an Ibis hotel is better than this place. Just stay away from this place. Like, really stay away. Even if the person on WhatsApp was friendly, there's no guarantee anything will be done. For example, they could replace the carpet with hardwood floors, especially in the hallway. I didn't want to use the elevator again after using it once. All in all, scary.

By far the worst hotel I've stayed in recently. You rarely see anything so run-down. The carpet was completely stained, the curtains hung from the ceiling by two threads like rags. The bathroom had moldy grout in the shower. And the extractor fan was so bad it made me gag. And all this cost €175 per night, including the Advent surcharge. There are no staff members on site; everything is handled by AI via WhatsApp.

Unfortunately, the hotel may be well located and have free parking in the city center, but what good is it if the heating doesn't work in late November!!!! It's 12 degrees Celsius in the room!!!!!

Heating broken – disappointing service!!! Checked into a room on November 29th, heating not working, room freezing cold. Despite reporting the issue, no solution was found, no room change, no replacement heater provided. Service far below standard. Not recommended.

The Hotel Villa-Noel (formerly Kipping) is a great choice if you do not want to interact with any staff or really anyone for a short stay next tot he train station in Dresden. This hotel while checking the boxes to be a 3 star location (has an elevator) is otherwise a two star hotel in its current state. Like other reviewers, the hotel needs a facelift in its rooms and common spaces. The hotel has good “bones”, but otherwise is extremely tired looking. When arriving, you will need to have a room code to even get in the door. The same code works the room entrance. You will not see anyone at a desk or anything. The room was large, had a bathroom with shower. There was soap and mixed soap/shampoo. There was a (very firm) bed with comforter. There were several chairs and a desk/fridge setup. The desk/fridge appeared to be new and the bed may have also been new. The shower did work fine, though there are no flow regulators, so temp will go up and down during your shower. The walls and ceiling were cracked and had not seen new paint in a long time. The carpet was stained. Overall it was reasonably clean, but first impressions are very poor. I would stay here only if you have a very late arrival or very early departure at the train station. I did not purchase breakfast, which you have to notify electronically by 8pm. When I went past the breakfast area, I still did not see any staff. Please note there is not a kettle in the rooms. There is a receptacle to have one, but that is it. They did have two mugs.

Rundown rooms with cables reaching out out the walls, clogged waterworks and broken shower cabins. Mould with a touch of bad smell. Wish there was a person to contact. Guess what, there is none. You can try to reach someone over Whatsapp, but you have wo solve a puzzle, because they state the prefix wrong. Let me put this straight, just look somewhere else, even the location seams not that off.

I stayed at the hotel at the end of October. Location: 1, a stone's throw from the main train station! The rest was rather unpleasant. There was no one to contact about the hotel in the entire building, and the telephone hotline was difficult to reach! The mattress was an assault on the body!! The broken springs of the innerspring were poking right through! Despite my request, the mattress was not replaced! The room was run-down, but reasonably clean. The curtains were broken, there was no blackout blind or anything similar, and no remote control for the TV. Suspected: It seems to be purely an investment property owned by whoever is in charge! NEVER AGAIN! It's a shame; the building has so much more potential.
