We booked the hotel and were supposed to arrive in two weeks. Now our weekend has suddenly been cancelled. We're left stranded without a hotel. We booked months ago and got a good price. Now the hotel is fully booked (according to Booking.com). This kind of behavior from the hotel is unacceptable. I strongly advise against booking this hotel. You'll end up stranded just before you're due to arrive.
The accessible room is spacious, but the interior bathroom has a constant, unbearable stench. Apparently, there's no functioning ventilation. The windows are fitted with fly screens, so thumbs up for that! 👍 However, the traffic outside – cars, trucks, trams, and freight vehicles – is incredibly loud! The ladies at reception can be quite rude at times, but the other service staff are extremely friendly. Breakfast is good; half-board includes one main course daily with soup and dessert, similar to cafeteria fare. Drinks are overpriced. But the terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Elbe River in the evenings.
We stayed there for one night over New Year's Eve. Great location right on the Elbe River. Delicious breakfast with a wide selection. In the summer, you can sit outside on the terrace overlooking the Elbe. The rooms were okay; the furnishings were a bit dated, but perfectly adequate. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel's location is fantastic. It's about a 7-minute drive to the city center. There's also a tram stop very close to the hotel, about a 3-minute walk.
The rooms facing the street are quite noisy and have a feel reminiscent of the late 90s.
The hotel is quite dated, and the drain in the bathroom smelled strongly (room 302). Breakfast was barely available at 7 a.m. today, apparently because the cook was absent. The bar was incredibly slow in the evening (Saturday); it took a full 30 minutes for a drink even though it was completely empty. The rooms are old, and the bathroom is very, very small.
Overall, I'm disappointed with this hotel. The price-performance ratio is completely off. A double room with breakfast and city tax cost €210.56 (room 228)! For that price, there wasn't even a bottle of mineral water in the room. It was available from the vending machine at reception for €3.50 (0.3l). The upholstered furniture in the room is so shabby that the faux leather coating is peeling off and scattered throughout the room. Then, the shower mechanism on the Grohe mixer tap in the bathtub didn't work! I can only recommend that management inspect the room. My expectations of hospitality at this price point seem to be significantly different from those of the owner!
