The Soho Hotel Düsseldorf

The door couldn't be unlocked from the inside. The key was stuck. An employee had to unlock it from the outside. If there had been a fire, I could have died.

The location was excellent and the rooms were clean. However, several basic amenities were missing or very limited; shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, cotton pads, and ear buds/cotton swabs. There was also no elevator, which can be difficult with luggage. Another downside was the lack of complimentary tea or coffee (not even a couple of capsules/packets), and there were no glasses in the room. The towels were dark grey, which didn’t feel very hygienic. Finally, the walls are quite thin, so you can easily hear people talking or laughing loudly. To top it off, the fire alarm went off while I was drying my hair with a Dyson, which was stressful.

Top location right in the heart of the old town. Rooms are clean and well-maintained. The mattress is a bit soft and the room is quite warm, but otherwise it is perfectly fine. I don't think the negative review is justified; the price and quality are really great, and the hotel is highly recommended. We celebrated our 12.5th wedding anniversary there and had two wonderful overnight stays. There was also a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. I secretly arranged that as a surprise with someone from the hotel for my husband. It was very sweet of you to help with this 👍

I've read through the other comments. It's really disappointing. I don't know what some people expect. It's a small hotel in the old town. The name "old town" says it all. Of course, the old town has 100-year-old sewage systems that can't be replaced, so sometimes you can smell the sewers. But complaining about a broken electrical outlet or a crushed coffee capsule is just ridiculous. You're not at the Steigenberger. Spend more money if you want more luxury. And room 4 is perfect. Small, but furnished with great attention to detail. The description mentions that it has a separate bathroom. There was plenty of hot water. And it was a beautifully renovated bathroom. I give the hotel 5 stars.

Aside from the location, I have nothing to praise about this "hotel." The hotel, which looks more like a converted old family home, is a disappointment with an unbearable smell coming from the bathroom, hair on the bed, a hole in the wall, little natural light, a humming refrigerator at night, and a view of the cluttered private terrace. Never again! The online pictures are simply misleading compared to reality. Unfortunately, it's also very noisy.

Perfect location, an excellent place to stay in Düsseldorf if you want to explore the city and don't need a lot of luxury. Highly recommended; you step out the door and you're right in the heart of the old town, just 200 meters from the Rhine.

You're right in the heart of the old town, and if you're staying for a few days, it's really convenient because all the restaurants and shops are right nearby. There's no staff present, so you have complete peace and quiet, and check-in and check-out were very smooth.

Simple and good sums it up. If you don't mind being right in the heart of the old town, or even prefer it, then this is the place for you. The room is basic but adequately furnished. I didn't receive a check-in code, but they helped me quickly over the phone.

Very nice and cozy hotel in a great location. Very nice interior, the room is not big, but good enough for 2 ppl. The bad and the pillows were not very comfortable, kind of old. The shower holder and the towel holder were loose.
