Top floor room was very hot, no proper ventilation in the bathroom, it had a stove but no working fridge and no pots/cutlery to cook with. (Probably stolen?)
The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. You can quickly reach the old town, the train station, and the airport in half an hour by public transport. From the outside, the hotel looks very unassuming; I almost walked right past the entrance. Check-in is self-service. You receive a code for the door via email and find an envelope containing your room key inside. The room itself is small but perfectly adequate. The only downside is the very strong smell, which dissipated fairly quickly after opening the windows. The price-performance ratio is excellent, but I wouldn't recommend it for people with disabilities, as it's typical for older buildings to have rooms accessible only via steep stairs.
In a small building, clean rooms, excellent location right in the center, and above all, a very kind and helpful owner who assists you with any questions or needs, even before your departure, via email. There's also an Italian restaurant downstairs.
Perfect location in the old town. Very clean. Old town charm (small rooms, steep stairs, older furnishings, noise from public life)! Everything you need for an overnight stay is there, and if you want to stay longer, there's even a small kitchen. We'll definitely come back on our next trip to Düsseldorf.
