Florence Queer Festival
About This Event
The Florence Queer Festival is the city's LGBTQ+ film festival. It is organised by IREOS, a volunteer association that has worked with Florence's LGBTQ+ community since 1997. The festival runs for five days in late November, mainly at Cinema La Compagnia, as part of the city's autumn season 50 Giorni di Cinema.
The programme is built around competitions for best feature, best short and queer animation, plus a Pride Award, alongside talks and live events. The 2025 edition, the 23rd, ran 26-30 November and showed 22 films under the theme R/Esistenze, focusing on political awareness, mutual care and solidarity.
The festival's website announces the 24th edition for 18-22 November 2026. The film programme hadn't been published when we checked.
