West Pride

West Pride is Gothenburg's pride week. It started in 2007, set up by the city, the Västra Götaland region and the LGBTQ group RFSL, and is now run by an independent nonprofit. It is a week of several hundred program items, many of them talks and education, and most of it is free.

The pieces are Pride House early in the week, a business forum, then Pride Park on Bananpiren in Frihamnen for the last two days, and the parade on Saturday, which the organizers call their biggest event. The parade runs along Avenyn between Götaplatsen and Gustaf Adolfs torg. City pages disagree on the direction, so check the map in the week itself. Thousands march, with the city taking part under its own banner.

The 2026 edition ran 8 to 14 June, with the parade on 13 June. We couldn't find an official attendance count. The organizers have announced 7 to 13 June 2027, with Pride Park on 11 and 12 June and the parade on Saturday 12 June. Gothenburg's June weather changes fast, so pack a rain layer.
