About this place Brasserie 1806

Brasserie 1806, inside the Breidenbacher Hof hotel, is a gay-friendly spot in Dresden’s Old Town, serving French and regional dishes.

The place feels both polished and easygoing, a good balance for a hotel restaurant. You get a proper meal without feeling like you need to whisper. The kitchen keeps things simple but thoughtful, focused on good ingredients.

It’s at Theodor-Körner-Str. 1-7, smack in Altstadt, with views of the old buildings outside. You'll see a mix of people—Dresden locals, hotel guests from elsewhere—which keeps the vibe from getting too stuffy. It works for a dinner out, or just a decent meal when you’re not feeling like a big production.

If you're an LGBTQ+ traveler in Dresden, this is a comfortable option in a city that can sometimes feel a bit buttoned-up. Plus, being in Old Town means you're right by all the museums and sites. You can book through the Capella Hotels group website.

Beautiful ambiance. Absolutely delicious food. They even accommodated special dietary requests. The kitchen staff can make anything possible. Our server was a young lady named Pamela, who was incredibly attentive and friendly. She made every food request come true.

Delicious food! We had the goulash and the rump steak with lemon tagliatelle. Very friendly service. The ambiance, with an old tram car and the very interesting pictures in the restroom, is quite imaginative 😬

Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed at all. The service was slow, and the meat was dry (both dishes). The beer was okay, though. The location is great, but the price is too high for what's offered.

Thank you for the wonderful lunch at this charming restaurant with exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. And a huge compliment on the fantastic, traditional German meal (Saxon Sauerbraten). It was a culinary delight. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
