Reykjavik Pride ist eines der außergewöhnlichsten Pride-Events der Welt — eine Stadt mit gerade einmal 130.000 Einwohnern, die regelmäßig 100.000 oder mehr Menschen zur August-Parade anzieht: Praktisch das ganze Land ist auf den Beinen. Island gilt seit Jahrzehnten als globaler Vorreiter bei LGBTQ+-Rechten, und das Event hat einen ehrlich fröhlichen, alle einbeziehenden Charakter, den man anderswo kaum findet. Die begleitende Festivalwoche nutzt die Mitternachtssonne in vollen Zügen.
