Seaton Park

Beautiful park in the city. Lots of walking paths along the river. Playground for the kids. Lovely community owned cafe and a stunning church. Great outing in Aberdeen.

Beautiful park, wonderful views and nature. Definitely worth a visit. It was cold when we went but we saw a heron and some amazing leaves/river

This is really a rather under-rated public park - perhaps because it’s on the northern periphery of Aberdeen. Formerly the grounds of Seaton House , it was bought for the city in 1947. The river Don runs through this large park of 67 acres, and not only are there swans, ducks & herons aplenty, but we’ve even seen seals swimming in the water. Here you’ll find a free car-park, loads of lush green grass to exercise on, a good children’s playground, a paying public toilet, shaded paths to wander amongst the glorious woodlands, the beautifully manicured gardens of Cathedral Walk , and the charming secluded walled garden. It’s also popular with dog-walkers , & for picnicking in good weather - with lots of benches dotted about to take in the scenery. I’d also recommend visiting St Machar Cathedral whilst here, and perhaps a walk along to picturesque Brig o’ Balgownie , which is Scotland’s oldest bridge.

Seaton Park, formerly the grounds of Seaton House, is situated in north Aberdeen on the banks of the River Don adjacent to St Machar’s Cathedral. It has lovely formal gardens, riverside walks and a children’s play area which includes Mr Therm, a former steam engine used to transport coal from Aberdeen harbour. Popular with locals, it is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Nice park, an area for kids to play, automated toilet currently 20p. The main feature is cathedral walk. When the flowers are out this is simply beautiful.

Wide open space with avenues of plants & paths along the River Don. Free car park & kids playground. Big open rugby pitch. Watery/marsh are to one side. Easy to navigate & walk around the outside, then access to the riverside paths. Also, able to access St Machar's Cathedral & shirt walk from Old Aberdeen streets

I have never seen so many flowers in one place in the spring. In addition you have the river with otters, birds and seals. Don't forget the enchante walled gardens. Beautiful playground if you have kids and paradise for dogs.

This is a lovely park by the river Don.Large open areas and a lovely river walk where if you are lucky,you can see otters.The old bridge is very photogenic.Ona weekend afternoon his must be a lovely place to relax.

A large park in the suburbs of Aberdeen with good facilities for parking, public transport, kids play areas and adult sightseeing. The formal planting accessed from the St. Machar side is really attractive. The open area which contains a WW2 pillbox, prehistoric tree and glacial boulder provides a great area for strolling. Take in the riverside walk and look for the hidden gardens in the top corner of the park. The riverside walk which leads from the memorial fountain winds around a bend in the river Don up to the Bridge of Don, one of the oldest bridges in Britain. Plenty of wildlife to see - ducks, herons etc. A grand day out on a sunny day.

Quality park, very Bonnie. The city should celebrate this park more. Kids play area is quality. Nice spacious park. The road in and out could be wider. More parking would help also.
