Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel

We booked a double room with a bathroom. The room was small, but it's certainly worth it for the price, which also included breakfast for four people. The bathroom was nice with a huge shower and overall very new. The included breakfast had everything from savory to sweet.

Very disappointed with the handling of lost personal belongings after my stay at this hotel. I contacted the hotel immediately after checkout regarding an item I had accidentally left behind, but the response was simply that housekeeping could not find it. There was very little effort shown to investigate further or assist properly. I understand mistakes can happen, but I expected a much higher standard of customer service and lost property handling from a hotel like this. Unfortunately, this experience left me with very little confidence in how guests’ belongings are handled.

What a poor experience and such a disappointment of a hotel. We thought of it well, having seen the nice pictures of the bar and lobby and expected a nice stay. But it went downhill quickly. It already started at the (slow) check in with a rude man at the front desk. We got a room on the first floor but we quickly realized we can't stay there. The floor at the entrance was sticky, like syrup. The bathroom was dirty. Stains on the lounge chairs as if someone peed on it. The smell was disgusting. We complained and got another room, also on first floor. It turned out to be a bit better BUT there were yellow pee stains on the carpet, the room smelled, the kettle was dirty, the cups still had coffee stains from the previous guests, the cleanliness in general just poor. For the sofa bed they just took two pillows from the king bed and placed these on the sofa bed, no real blankets either. As we were in a hurry for a dinner reservation we stuck with this room. Unfortunately. Later in the night trying to sleep it was so hot in the room (there is no AC!) that we had to open the window. But with the noise outside and yelling drunk people (Friday night) we couldn't sleep at all. For breakfast we were told at checkin it starts at 0730. We decided to wait until 0715 and then go have breakfast - just to find the whole place is already packed with people. The choice was ok, expected much more to be honest, and rather bad food quality. The coffee from the kettles was undrinkable. Back in the room the hair dryer didn't seem to work. After a call to front desk we were told they only work with cold air button. As we had to wait quite a lot for the two elevators we decided to use the stairs as we were on the first floor. They looked like a dated public building with stains, drops of paint everywhere and even chewing gum on the floor. Before we stayed one regrettable night at the Sandman Signature, we spent 3 nights in other hotels in Glasgow. They were cheaper by night and much better quality. So it's got nothing to do with "Glasgow standard". I really don't understand why this hotel has 4 stars, it felt like a bad 2 star. Looking at some of the 5 star reviews they are either fake or people really have no sense of hygiene. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had in my life, considering the price. Avoid!

Lovely and clean. Small amount of parking available (an additional £15). Rooms are great and breakfast was excellent.

Staff were really great, they make the hotel. The host Maja in the restaurant was lovely and looked after me from start to finish. Asset to the team

Perfect hotel for what we needed was my sons 18th so we come to glasgow, it was clean, staff were all amazing and friendly I would 100% stay again my son loved it to and wants to go back again soon

The location was perfect. The reception staff were lovely and gave us great advice on excursion options. The room was modern and had all the amenities.
