Footprints Resort

Spent a weekend here recently and thoroughly enjoyed my time. The staff were so kind and welcoming. The property was beautiful, everything was in excellent condition and I could not have asked for a better setting for a retreat. Every detail thought of. I can’t wait to come back!
Amazing experience, very relaxing and fun 🤩 loved the vibe
Stayed here over the Victoria Day long weekend for a relaxing adults only getaway. It was actually their first weekend open for the season, which was nice because the property wasn’t too crowded yet. Before arriving, we called ahead to let them know we’d be checking in late, and they were accommodating about it. The only issue we had arriving was finding the entrance at night. The area is very dark, and there wasn’t really any lighting or clear signage at the entrance, so we ended up driving past it the first time. A lighted sign or some additional lighting near the driveway would make a huge difference, especially for late arrivals since the entrance is a bit hidden. Check in was easy and straightforward. Someone met us at the front desk and got us checked in quickly. The rules and policies were posted at the desk, which was helpful. We stayed in one of the double queen motel rooms. The room itself was definitely on the smaller side and a little dated, but it was clean and fine for a weekend stay. There wasn’t much space for luggage or bags, so we had to work around that a bit. Toiletries were very basic. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, unfortunately kind of lumpy and sagging and probably due for replacement soon. It was great having a bigger fridge in the room as you can put some basic groceries in it. One thing that was a bit unusual was having to toggle the hot water as explained by the front desk staff, but once you got it figured out, the shower had really good pressure and the hot water stayed consistently hot without running out. Across from the motel rooms were the cabins and shared shower facilities. The lodge area was actually nice, with a cozy sitting space and a modern kitchen that was well stocked with cooking supplies. There were also a few BBQs outside. During our stay, several people were cooking both indoors and outside, which gave the place a relaxed cottage vibe. The hot tub was a bonus. It fits about six people comfortably, and there’s also a small conversation pool beside it. The pool itself was too cold to use during spring weather, so hopefully they consider heating it a bit during cooler seasons like spring and fall. The hot tub, though, was great after a day out exploring. Down by the water there’s a small beach area with lounge chairs and free water activities including paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. Life jackets are provided as well. The lake is quite small, and is fairly weedy and muddy, but it gets deep in the middle. We took the paddle boat out for a while and really enjoyed it, even spotted a few turtles while out on the water. Other guests were kayaking and canoeing during the day. Around the property there are lots of little seating areas to relax and unwind, plus two fire pits which added to the atmosphere at night. One of the positives for us was that it’s adults only. Since it wasn’t at full capacity, the atmosphere stayed very quiet and peaceful with just a handful of couples around that also had the same mindset of having a calm and chill place to relax at. They enforce a noise cutoff at 11 PM, which is perfect if you’re looking to relax and disconnect. I do wonder how different the atmosphere might be during peak summer season once the outdoor bar areas are open and the resort is busier, as I could see it potentially getting louder and more rowdy then. The location was another plus. It’s only about 20 minutes from Bancroft and close to several local sights and outdoor activities, which made it a good base for exploring the area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a quiet, relaxing getaway, especially during the shoulder season. For the Victoria Day long weekend, it was peaceful and enjoyable. I’d just be curious to see how the atmosphere changes during the busier summer months.
Beautiful place, on a private lake.
Resort was beautiful, stayed in the cozy cabin really only needed it to sleep because we were outside the hole time. Lake is beautiful. Very private friendly staff.
