The Lismore Hotel Eau Claire – ein DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

The rooms are nice and modern. Solid amenities with The Informalist and DCEC Coffee shop right off the lobby. Overall giving this a 4 as the beds are the least comfortable I've ever slept in - super hard - and I travel a lot for work. The floor would have been comparable. If you like a super-firm mattress, then you'll be thrilled!

For starters, let me give you a heads up. This place is nothing special or fancy. Don’t be fooled by the hotel name. There are no luxuries here, such as a pool or hot tub. There’s not even a continental breakfast or anything to consider this place luxurious or even a 3-star hotel.

Wonderful place to stay. Just stayed for the 3rd time. Clean, tastefully decorated, conveniently located in downtown Eau Claire. Loved the restaurant and coffee shop availability, access to parking ramp, and ease of check in despite being very busy at that time. Staff were great!

I’m a hilton Diamond member- so I’ve been to a LOT of Hilton hotels. This is the best. Lake, and others on staff provide impeccable customer service. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Let me start by saying this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and it had nothing to do with the room itself. Upon check-in, I was immediately greeted with an unnecessary and rude comment from the receptionist, who said, “I assume you want the cheapest option.” I had just finished a long day at work at my blue-collar job and was exhausted. While the hotel is located downtown and near a visible homeless population, I was absolutely not homeless, and the assumption felt disrespectful and unprofessional. I responded that price wasn’t my concern—I simply wanted a king-size bed. That answer seemed to catch the receptionist off guard, which only reinforced how inappropriate the initial comment was. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this one set a very poor tone for the stay. Ironically, the room itself was decent. It was clean, solid, and had a nice view. The coffee shop downstairs was also a highlight—I grabbed coffee in the morning and it was genuinely good. That said, it was disappointing there was no complimentary breakfast, especially given the overall cost. During my stay, I only encountered around five homeless individuals, which was far less than expected given the location. However, the hotel staff insisted I park my car in a “special area” so it wouldn’t get broken into, which did not exactly inspire confidence or make me feel at ease as a guest. Overall, while the room and coffee were fine, the judgmental attitude at check-in and the lack of professionalism overshadowed everything else. I would not stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless significant improvements are made in customer service and guest relations.
