Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Our stay at this "resort" was a disaster from start to finish, ruined by abysmal service, filthy rooms, and incredibly rude staff. ​ROOM CLEANLINESS: The room was noticeably dirty the moment we walked in. The shower was still covered in sand from the previous guests, and there was a visible layer of dust on almost every surface. Worst of all, they don't clean your room automatically. After two full days of waiting, we finally had to initiate a cleaning request ourselves. When the cleaning crew did show up, they tried to just come in while we were there and flat-out refused to accommodate us when we asked them to come back a little later. ​MAINTENANCE ISSUES: On top of the dirt, our room key stopped working twice during our stay, forcing us to trek all the way back to the lobby just to get into our room. ​TERRIBLE SERVICE: The absolute worst part of our stay was the atrocious attitude of the reception staff. From check-in to check-out, they treated us like a massive inconvenience. When we politely asked about a late check-out, we were met with outright hostility and eye-rolls instead of basic hospitality. ​FOOD: Don't waste your money eating at the hotel bar. The food quality was super bad. We ended up eating at a completely random place just outside the resort, and it was infinitely better than anything the hotel served. ​Save your money, your vacation time, and your sanity. There is no excuse for this level of disrespect and lack of basic hygiene. Stay literally anywhere else.

The hotel totally lived up to our expectations. We got married there and stayed at an Oceanview suite and the views were absolutely spectacular. It’s an older hotel but you’re paying for the view and the fact that you’re on one of the most beautiful beaches in Maui it’s not over populated with people and has a really good chill vibe. I will definitely come back to this hotel great value for the money.

Absolutely the best accommodation on the beach! We were greeted by Kim at the front desk who was so pleasant and welcoming!! Kim upgraded our room which was most appropriated because we are here celebrating our 40th wedding Anniversary!! The room was perfect and view even better!! Top notch resort with ALL the accommodations you will need! Location is perfect for any and all excursions! 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beware of bugs in the rooms. Found about 20 mounds under the bed that looks like sand dunes. There are larvae that look like maggots in the mounds. Obviously no one has even vacuumed in a while. Place is well maintained outside. Room cleaning is spotty. They only clean the guest rooms every other day. I found some clean towels on a house cleaning cart. Been without body wash for two days. Using shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap as a substitute. Parking is $45/day, and you can't park close in the evenings because of the luau. Good views of the ocean. Nice pools. They encourage a quick checkout and promise an email with the details of charges. I haven't seen that yet.

Resort is coming back nicely after wild fires a few years ago. The grounds were very beautiful and the pools and access to the beach was very nice. The staff was amazing and a nice restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. There was some construction going on but they bumped us to the beach house which was amazing. Full kitchen, pool and washer and dryer. We will definitely choose this resort again. We enjoyed their Luau and the food and show was memorable. Sad to leave but we will be back. We were a whole family Grandoarents, Parents and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for all of us. Everyone had an amazing time
