Dixon Place

A Lower East Side institution since 1985, Dixon Place is technically an experimental arts lab rather than a gay theatre — but it has premiered queer performance for four decades, runs the long-standing HOT! queer arts festival each summer, and its bar and calendar stay reliably queer-heavy. Cheap tickets, working artists testing new material, and one of the last genuinely downtown rooms in Manhattan.
