We stopped here quite by accident. The view from the park of the Atlantic Ocean was exceptional. The park is right off Interstate 64.
My wife grew up in Norfolk...this park with the very old "climbing" trees were an immediate hit with our young grandchildren. Picnic tables and good parking PLUS a very short walk to the beach with small waves since it is on Chesapeake Bay. Also a very short walk to the Ocean View Pier for rest rooms and food.
Visited this place for a beer tasting festival. I couldn’t ask for a better experience - beach views, brew, and live music bands. If you’re looking for summertime fun in a chill atmosphere you must come here. Tip: there’s even an outdoor public beach bathroom.
FIrst off I loved how empty this beach was but the people who do go need to pick up after themselves. It drove me crazy. I really just wanted to get a bag and a pair of gloves and go picking up all the trash people left. They ought to be ashamed. Other than that the beach had very small waves which is perfect for children and it was a peaceful place. I would also love to see a local open up a small place to get t shirts and magnets or something. We ended up having to go to Walmart to get anything.
This park has a clean beach and is very close to the fishing pier and Franco's By the Bay Restaurant, which is excellent. The beach has life guards. In the park is a cluster of what I believe are banyan trees that are so beautiful.
This is an OK beach but it would be so much better if beach goers would learn how to throw away their trash and recyclables instead of tossing it on the beach!!! I am so disgusted in the way so many mid Atlantic and south Atlantic beaches are taken advantage of with lazy and disrespectful people thinking they can just throw their trash wherever they want! Please keep our beaches and earth clean! It’s not hard! It saddens me because this beach is conveniently located by shops, bathrooms, free parking and restaurants, making it easy for families to spend the entire day there-but the trash and cigarette butts everywhere is disheartening. I also wish that well behaved, quiet dogs would be allowed on the beach in the summer as long as they’re on a leash and their owners actually pick up after them. I wish I could say I’d be returning but I’m hesitant.
This isn’t as nice as Virginia Beach. The sand hurt my bare feet because it was rough. Hardly anyone was there Easter weekend. The pier isn’t free to walk on even if you’re not planning to fish. The guy who runs it is also very rude. There is a bar, bait shop, and restaurant in the area, but I didn’t see any souvenir shops.
Nice long beach for walking. soft sand and no rocks. Not a lot of waves. Limited restrooms and various parking areas along the main road (Ocean View) that are open seasonally. Views of the Chesapeake Bay and bridge
Had an awesome time walking the beach with my grandaughter. The water was calm and beautiful. A touch on the cool side with a little wind. Found some awesome seashells.
I made my son take me to the beach on the way to the airport, because I had seen pictures of snow in my hometown on Facebook. This is a lovely beach with a view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Very clean.
A great place to enjoy with the family.
Beautiful family friendly beach on Chesapeake Bay, enjoyed a nice afternoon relaxing by the water reading a book and listening to music. There is a nice breeze that co.rs off the water, which feels amazing on a hot day. Nice quiet beach and clean.
It was all right but a lot of people like to litter
Loved this beach! There were only a few people. It was quiet and lovely!
Clean beach and on Tuesday it was almost empty. Great mix of sand and rocks. Kids had a blast
It's perfect but there were shopped glasses on the beach like big ones and kids were playing around them. Please check before get there so there is no accidents.
Just recently moved to the Norfolk, VA area and been checking out the local beaches. I found this place is a great place to just sit and let the waves melt away the stresses of every day life.
