Pride Bigger Than Texas
Über dieses Event
Pride Bigger Than Texas is San Antonio's main Pride weekend, produced by Pride San Antonio, a nonprofit that began in 2004 as Gay Pride SA and incorporated in 2011. Early editions relied on a few local bars and a parade of about a dozen entries; today there is a daytime festival at Crockett Park and a night parade with dozens of floats. Net proceeds go to local nonprofits picked by the board; in 2026 those included BEAT AIDS Coalition Trust and Diversity Recovery Alliance.
The festival runs at Crockett Park through the afternoon, then the parade steps off around 9pm on North Main Avenue, the strip of gay bars just north of downtown. A high-heel race runs before the parade, and the bars on The Strip keep going with a block party into Sunday. Bring water: late June in San Antonio is hot even after dark.
The 2026 edition ran 26 to 28 June, with the festival and parade on Saturday 27 June. Texas Public Radio reported a mood of defiance as well as party, with many people citing the city's fight over a rainbow crosswalk in the Cultural Heritage District. It's usually the last Saturday of June, but the 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
