I didn’t even stay at this place as plans changed and I had to rebook at different accommodation, but the money was taken out of my account before I arrived. I booked a refundable room on HostelWorld and cancelled well before the 24 hour period and I have not been given a refund. I emailed them and visited them in person to try and get a refund but no action or communication has been made to give me my money back. I would not recommend this place at all.

I stayed at this hostel during the F1 weekend in Melbourne. The best thing about this place is definitely the location. It’s very close to the circuit, which made it super convenient during race weekend. There’s also a bus stop right in front of the hostel and plenty of shops, restaurants, and even a supermarket nearby. - they don’t have car parking. One thing to know is that the hostel can be a little hard to find at first. It’s down a small alley, so you need to pay attention when arriving or it’s easy to miss the entrance. The main thing that could be improved is the cleaning. During my stay I saw one woman responsible for cleaning and she told me she works there every day. It honestly feels like a lot of work for just one person, so maybe the hostel just needs more help to keep everything properly clean. There are two separate bathrooms, one for men and one for women. Each bathroom only has two showers, two sinks, and two toilets, which can be a bit inconvenient when the hostel is full. When I arrived, the bathrooms looked quite dirty and stained (like in the photos I attached), but when I left they had been cleaned and looked much better. There also isn’t really a good place in the bathrooms to put your belongings — there aren’t big shelves or surfaces, so you often end up putting your things on the floor. My room also had a pretty strong smell, which made it a bit uncomfortable. I think part of that might come from some long-term guests who seem to live there and don’t always keep the shared spaces very tidy. That said, in general the other guests were respectful and didn’t cause any problems during my stay. The room has no windows, only air conditioning and a large skylight. The skylight is nice for natural light, but if you’re sleeping on one of the top bunks it might be a little uncomfortable. The beds were also a bit disappointing — the sheets didn’t look very fresh and when I checked in my bed looked like it might have already been used, which was a bit strange. The kitchen is quite small. I can’t say much about it because the only time I saw it, it was pretty messy and there was a lot of trash around. Overall, I don’t think this is a bad hostel. It has a great location and a lot of potential. I can definitely see it becoming a really good hostel if the cleaning improves, which is why I wanted to leave an honest review. For now, I’d mainly recommend it if you’re just looking for a cheap place to sleep.

Unfit for human in habitation. Place hasn't been cleaned in years and resembles a third world prison experience.

Avoid this place at all costs! The manager entered my room twice, even though it was a women-only room. He knocked very quickly and didn't wait for an answer. I was just seconds away from being naked, and he justified it by saying he worked there and it was normal. Several times while I was sleeping in the room, the receptionists came in and talked very loudly. Knowing I work nights, this woke me up some mornings. There's no common area to relax in besides the room. The kitchen is tiny; there's only one refrigerator for the entire hostel. One morning I woke up to find all the food bags from the fridge on the table. Mine must have been out of the fridge for over five hours, but that wasn't their problem. The manager claimed there was no more place in the fridge because of the bags. Now there are no more bags, but still no space. Is it time to invest in a second refrigerator? Finally, the place isn't safe; there's almost never anyone at reception, and several times on my way home from work I've seen people who weren't staying at the hostel loitering in front of the door. One last thing: if you leave a good review you're entitled to a discount, I understand why...

How is it possible that a hostel is so dirty ? Dirt and dust underneath beds Earplugs, socks, tobacco, in the storage lockers I don’t even want to talk about the kitchen Restroom not to bad Do something to make this hostel more comfortable please.. But good price and location
