Hotel Lotus Shibuya

The reception staff were terrible. Other than that it's a nice hotel.

The woman at the front desk at the Shibuya branch had the worst customer service I've ever had. She had brown hair and was wearing a necklace. I'm never going back and I don't recommend it. When I checked out at the front desk, I was given my key and made to wait for a few minutes without being told anything. When I asked, "Is that okay?" she just replied curtly, "Yes." There are additional charges, so she should have at least said, "There will be no additional charges," or "Thank you." When I told her that her attitude was really rude, I looked over and saw her looking down and playing with her phone. If she doesn't have the courage to talk to me face to face, she shouldn't behave like that. If this hotel is a chain, she should take appropriate action. The room was clean and had a waterbed, so it was really nice, so I hope that this reaches the person in charge.

The Standard B room's bath is a unit bath with a combined toilet and sink. Instead, the open-air bath, sauna, and karaoke room can be reserved for private use free of charge. Yukata rentals are also available. There was a slight gap in the roof of the open-air bath, so we could hear the sounds of a nearby club. You have to fill the bath with hot water yourself. It was cold at this time of year, but we were able to relax. The touch panel for reservations in the room was broken and difficult to respond to. There were plenty of amenities, and the shampoo was good. The walls were thin, so we could hear the staff quite a bit.

I stayed here overnight. To put it bluntly, it was terrible. I never want to go back. The staff's attitude was awful. The touch panel for ordering was broken → The LCD screen itself was broken. The room was also noticeably dirty in several places, and there was absolutely no soundproofing, so you could hear everything from inside to outside.

Stayed on September 1st, 2025 (Monday). From the entrance, you get the feeling of staying at a small traditional Japanese inn. The amenities include a wide variety of bath salts, with options inspired by famous hot spring towns like Kusatsu and Hakone. The popcorn maker was also a nice touch, allowing us to enjoy popcorn. However, it was disappointing that we couldn't order the free welcome drink as members. At least, the free welcome drink was only available for a fee via the tablet, so I'll order it again next time. Also, there's an open-air bath and karaoke, which I'd like to try on my next visit.

I stayed overnight. - I couldn't make a reservation for the open-air bath even after checking in. - The tablet frequently froze. - I checked to see if there was a waiting list for cancellations, but I couldn't make one. - The front desk service was awful. I read the reviews and it seems like someone from 3 months ago had the same opinion, but it seems like nothing has improved. This is the first time I've been treated like one of those people who didn't even say "Welcome" or show me around. - The only good thing was that when I called the morning before, the person who answered was very nice. However, I think it's a problem that the experience varies so much from person to person. - Do you know what hospitality is? The fact that the room bath is a unit is a bit of a problem, so I can't say anything particularly good about it. This is my second time using this hotel, but I don't think I'll go again. I think it's only its location in Shibuya that keeps it going.

There were bed bugs in my room (Room 406). I couldn't see them when the lights were on, but as soon as I turned the lights off and then back on, several of them were crawling around the bed... 😨 I told the front desk, but will they call an exterminator? I'm worried.

It was very good.

There were two rooms available on a Saturday night, so I decided to stay there. It smelled bad when I entered, like a smoking room. The room wasn't very spacious, but it didn't feel dirty. The only things I noticed were that there was only one bottle of water in the refrigerator, the unit bath didn't have a sink (so I couldn't fill it with hot water), and the smell. The good things were that it was quiet outside, they provided ice, the reception was friendly, check-out was at 11:00, and they offered a welcome drink (if you become a free member). I was interested in the private bath.

It was the worst. ◯ Staff behavior → There were some nice people, but on the other hand, some had bad attitudes, which made me feel uncomfortable. Overall, I thought the service was significantly lower than in the Kansai region. Amenities, too. (^◇^;) Just for reference.
